Let Him Be The Judge

Judging each other is not our job, it is God’s

By: Taren Vaughan

“Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock, or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.”
Romans 14:13

Passing judgment on each other is one thing that we do with regularity. Too often we try to tell someone how wrong they are for doing something. We even go to the extent of selecting the type of punishment that the person should get. We must remember that we do not have the right to choose what kind of punishment that an individual should receive. God is the one who blesses us when we do good things. Shouldn’t He be the one who punishes us for our wrongdoings? The decision should ultimately be up to God because He holds all the power. He determines how severe our punishments should be or if we should even it get punished at all.

No matter how bad you think a person’s actions are, it is not up to you to place judgment on them. It is hard not to be judgmental especially when the person has done something harmful to another human being. Even if this may be the case, you are not their judge, God is. Let Him be the one to cast punishment on those who act out of line. Instead of passing judgment on a person, how about trying to help them correct their mistake? You never know when you may find yourself in a similar situation.
