Rhodes Scholar Myron Rolle Drafted By Tennessee Titans

Football player excels in academics and becomes professional athlete

It is an incredible accomplishment to be drafted into the NFL. But this young man was not only recognized for his athletic ability.

FSU’s Myron Rolle’s academic resume is just as impressive as his football resume. Rolle completed his undergraduate degree in an amazing 2 and ½ years. Using his Rhodes scholarship, one of the most prestigious scholarships in academics, Rolle put football on hold to study in Oxford. Some believe that Rolle’s time away from football affected his draft ability. But the Tennessee Titans still feel that he could be a great asset to their team. Here is what he had to say about the Titans picking him up:

“Obviously, the Titans have noticed my ability and see that I’m special, and I’m certainly ready to compete and help the franchise anyway I can.”

Despite being selected so late in the draft, Rolle should be praised for his scholastic achievement as very few individuals are recognized as Rhodes scholars.
