Jaguars Come Up Short Against The Eagles

By: Taren Vaughan

Playing their first game without former team star Donovan McNabb, many questioned how the Philadelphia Eagles would fair this season. With their win over the Jacksonville Jaguars proved that they are still a force to be reckoned with. Eagles’ quarterback Kevin Kolb spoke on how he and his teammates feel about the promise of their future. And despite what others say, they know the talent level that they possess:

“We know we’re talented,” “We know there’s talent on the field all over the place. We just have to execute. We’re doing our own thing. We don’t need to force anything. We’re a young bunch. We’re excited about the way we started things today, and we just need to keep moving forward next week.”

Even with this level of enthusiasm, Kevin Kolb still has some big shoes to fill. Taking over McNabb’s position is no easy task for anyone that comes after him. So far, he seems to be doing quite well. He was 6-of-11 passing for 95 yards in Friday’s game. Michael Vick was 11 of 17 for 119 yards and ran for 50 yards, giving the Eagles some quality minutes at the QB position. But it is quite obvious who will be leading the squad this year as far as offense is concerned. This game was one of the closest preseason games thus far, determined by a single point.
