Beyonce can add a new title to her ever growing collection of accolades this week as she landed on the Working Mother’s Most Powerful Mother’s list. Beyonce, who is number 5 on the list, is the only African-American woman on the list this year. According to Working Mother,

[The list] is a powerhouse group of women in a range of fields—from social media to technology to show biz. The pop icon new mom, the author who’s shattering book sales records, the social media maven—these are just a few of the moms making a major impact right now. All the power women on our list have at least one child 18 or younger, and are all based in the U.S. The list is not ranked, each of these women is making an impact in a unique way.

The publication has nothing but kind words to say about Beyonce as well.

The singer has drawn considerable media attention since giving birth to her daughter, Blue Ivy, this year. When the new mom openly breastfed in a New York City restaurant, it made gossip headlines, with many praising the star for asserting a woman’s right to breastfeed in public. Knowles recently said about giving birth, “I felt more powerful than I’ve ever felt in my life. I felt connected to my body. I felt like I knew my purpose in the world.”

Beyonce is no stranger to the types of lists, as she was also recently named the World’s Most Beautiful Woman of 2012 by People Magazine. Beyonce was the first African-American in nine years to be given the acclaim, since Halle Berry.

It would appear that women all over are beginning to look up to Beyonce, and her husband Jay-Z, as a positive family influence in the entertainment industry. She seems to be diving head first into motherhood while maintaining a successful career as a music superstar and business woman.

Do you agree that Beyonce is a Powerful Mother?

    1. Right! They gave this illiterate child a Journalism award for “writing” an article in Essence. Meanwhile, the real journalists got unnoticed. I’m over her.

      1. She didn’t ask for the award. If you want to be mad at anybody, be mad at the people running the organization. You sound real childish right now.

      2. Beyonce doesn’t even know you exist. It’s unhealthy to let a stranger get to you that much. This happens when you let what you read on certain blogs tell you the personality type of people neither you or the blogger knows personally. Wake up.

  1. So they decide to only put one black woman on the list, and then they chose the one woman who thought she was too good to even birth a baby? Oh please.

    1. So how does it feel to be obsessed over one woman’s vagina more than your own? You conspiracy theorists are some of the looniest people I’ve ever encountered in in my life.

  2. I don’t usually comment but why does Beyonce bring out the worst in black women? I don’t get it. She works hard and minds her business but only she can make sisters foam out the mouth with hate. Why?

    1. The same reason they don’t like the pretty and successful girls in high school. They are insecure and it shows. When I see a Beyonce article, I expect the comments to get real childish and ignorant. Never fails.
