John Legend Is ‘Bout That Life’

John Legend is not afraid to get a little gangsta and dish out criticisms to defend his fiancee from Chris Brown and his ratchet fan base.

It appears that John Legend is not scared to “check a b-tch.” Not only did he put Team Breezy in its place after cyber attacking his fiancee, Sports Illustrated model Chrissy Teigen, and sending death threats on Twitter after she made it known she didn’t see the magic of his Billboards performance; but he isn’t afraid to speak his mind on any celebrity when prompted to in interviews.

Fresh after the ridiculous falling out with Chris Brown’s legions of fans, Legend decided he had enough of the ratchet behavior. It was time to stand up for his Lady Love.

According to Eonline.com,

The relentless Brown defenders started in on Legend, too, because the Duets star tweeted, “Personally, I don’t think @chrissyteigen’s existence is pointless. Nor anyone else who dares criticize a performance.”

“Every artist has to be ok with the fact that some people won’t like their work. All critics aren’t ‘haters,'” he continued, aiming that last bit at Brown. “And don’t ever tell me to put my ‘b-tch on a leash’. She’s a grown woman with her own mind and her own opinions and this is not 1950.”

But John Legend doesn’t discriminate when it comes to putting overrated celebrities in their place. Anybody can get it.

When asked on his feelings about the recent celebrity additions to X-Factor, he went in…again. He decided to publicly criticize  hosts Brittney Spears and Demi Lovato. It really seems that John Legend does not like people that lip sync songs while dancing on stage. Drjays.com reports,

“You know, it’s interesting. It should be very interesting. I don’t have much to say… It’s interesting when people you know who are judging singing competitions when they aren’t really singers. It’s interesting.”

It is actually honorable to see John Legend take up for his fiance. No one deserves to be the brunt of ratchet behavior, as Chrissy experienced, for being critical of a performance. People will also agree with his opinion of Brittney Spears and Demi Lovato hosting a show that entails finding some of the best singers in America when they themselves can’t even sing outside the studio.

It’s okay to disagree with John Legend, but we can appreciate how classy he drags people in interviews and in 140 characters or less.

  1. I’m glad he has a backbone but I still don’t buy this relationship. John Legend just looks like a gay man to me. Love him as a singer, I just wish he would be who I think he really is. People shouldn’t have to hide their sexual preferences.

  2. The way this man sashayed when he got off the piano in the “Ordinary People” video should have been a clear indicator that this man could get sassy when need be. I’m just saying.
