Remy Ma: I Never F-cked Nicki Minaj But It’s On When I Get Out Of Jail
By: Taren Vaughan
Remy Ma is known for putting it down on tracks for sure. Unfortunately, she has been missing from the rap game for a minute now after being sentenced to eight years in prison for assault, weapons possession and attempted coercion during a shooting incident that took place. Although the Terror Squad raptress has been behind bars, somehow her name managed to become a trending topic on Twitter, one that claimed her as being dead. Over a phone interview with Hot 97, Remy says that she was beyond baffled by her “passing” and doesn’t even know how someone came to the conclusion that she was dead:
“I have no idea. People are so stupid. I don’t know”
“Yeah, I think it started on Twitter”
Her man Rapper Papoose came to check on her after hearing Remy was supposedly dead.
Shortly after dispelling the ridiculous rumors about her death, Remy was asked her opinion on the Nicki Minaj Hot 97 Summer Jam beef. And Remy says she would have handled the situation much like Nicki did, but she would have been a little more G about it:
“Um, I would’ve have did what she did but I would have made it more, I would have probably went on the stage and did what she did and then walked off the stage”
She also kills the rumors of her being Nicki’s lover, claiming that they are cool but don’t get down like that with each other.
This “Nicki Minaj” definitely claimed that Remy got down with chicks though:
And despite what Lil’ Kim and the rest of the Nicki bashers have to say about the Young Money rapper, Remy says she digs Nicki as an artist and that people are just hating on the success that she has had:
“I think she’s dope. I like her and I think she did great things for female rappers in the game. And she gets a lot of hate from what I see. I think a lot of people hate on her. I think a lot of people are jealous of her because maybe they weren’t able to do what she did”
Remy adds that Nicki has changed the game for female rappers and opened up doors for them:
“And I feel she opened a lot of doors for females in the rap industry period. Maybe a lot of people may not consider her music straight Hip-Hop or whatever but what is necessarily Hip-Hop? She makes good music. I like her”
Even though Remy has some positive words for Minaj, she says Nicki will have some competition once she leaves her prison cell and returns home because it will be on:
“Does she have a problem when I come home? Absolutely”
Do you agree with Remy Ma? Is Nicki Minaj opening up doors for female rappers?
