Rapper Meek Mill is enjoying his new found success as a Maybach Music Group artist. He’s had a couple songs to do fairly well on the charts, and he’s managed to get himself involved in enough controversy in the last few months to become a pretty well known rapper in such as short amount of time. Even after it was originally claimed that Meek Mill was involved with that whole fight between Drake and Chris Brown, Meek Mill decided to use that attention to his advantage and find a way to stay on the gossip blogs with his interesting rants about his baby mama on Twitter, and beef with pastors over his song Amen. Although he’s ended the beef with the church community, it appears that Meek Mill still hasn’t quite managed to humble himself.

Meek Mill recently had a listening party for his debut album Amen, and according to those in attendance, he showed up so late, that most of his A-List guests bounced before he even showed up because they felt his tardiness was disrespectful. The two guests specifically who left early are reportedly Will Smith and Jay-Z.

And if the gossip is true, onlookers say Meek Mill should be even more humble since Jay-Z only showed up to the event to see how the new brand of liquor he’s sponsoring performed with the guests in attendance. The New York Daily News reports:

Though Jay-Z didn’t stick around for long, sources tell Confidenti@l he was there to check on how well guests were enjoying a brand of liquor that he became the spokesman for this summer.

“Jay-Z wanted to see how the D’Ussé cognac was being received by people at the party,” says the insider.

  1. Why is Meek Mill feeling himself so hard and this is his first album? Does he really think he’s talented enough to be relevant in 5 yrs? -_-

  2. Somebody needs to humble themselves quick. And I think Meek is from Philly, so Will probably came to support him. That was rude of Meek to be so late.

  3. I really don’t like Meek Mill. He’s not that great at rapping and he has a smug attitude that’s really irritating. I’m glad Jay-Z did what he needed to do and bounced.

  4. The only way an artist can be late to their own listening party and people will stay anyway, is if they have a catalog and are considered a legend. Meek needs to have several seats.

  5. He’s been feeling himself for a while actually. I had to unfollow him on Twitter. Especially after he said all that messy stuff about his baby mama. I don’t really care for this dude.

  6. He must be young to have done something like this. I hope he gets it together. You can’t show out and you just got here Meek.

  7. I actually think Jay is more arrogant than Meek. How do you only come to someone’s listening party to see how the liquor is received?
