Kandi Burruss might be a reality television star, entrepreneur and a successful song writer, but there are some that feel she wouldn’t have any of that success today if it wasn’t for her stint in So So Def R&B group Xscape. The group had many hits during their reign in the music industry, but eventually met the same fate of all successful girl groups and split as a result of some rumored tension between the members. According to some very old gossip in Atlanta (which might have been confirmed from one of the ex members recently), problems in the group started when Kandi allegedly began sleeping with Jermaine Dupri. It is rumored that Kandi attempted to use her relationship with Jermaine Dupri to become a lead singer of the group. That didn’t sit well with sisters LaTocha Scott and Tamika Scott, as a result, the group ended.
Now that Jermaine Durpi wants to reunite all of the popular So So Def artists, he figured the best way to do that would be via a concert in Atlanta. Dupri is bringing old school acts back such as Kris Kross, Jagged Edge, and Xscape. But Kandi surprised Jermaine Durpi when she told her fans that she wouldn’t be attending because she has her own tour kicking off around the same time. However, Durpi claimed in a recent interview that Kandi didn’t tell him that she wouldn’t be showing up and he finds that kind of low.
Welp, it looks like Bow Wow has decided to involve himself in the matter because the Cash Money Records artist and host of 106 & Park took to his Facebook account to slam Kandi for not showing up to the anniversary concert that is going down February 23 in Atlanta.
He says:
“JD likes to keep quiet but… Yo Kandi is wack for not wanting to show up for jd for “20th anniversary so so def show” put ego to the side and give the fans what they want and understand w/ out jd know [no] one would even know who you are. You aint Michael, this aint the Jackson 5. She act’n like she booked out like she too busy! Better yet dont come. The ones thats there are the ones who really got live [love] for JD and the history if [of] the label.”
We have to wonder if Bow Wow has any plans of also slamming Tiny soon because we did hear that she won’t be showing up either. And we’re not surprised, considering that the beef between the group was never really squashed.
Bow Wow needs to have a seat!
He acts like such a female.
Isn’t J.D. throwing this concert because he’s broke and needs the money? Yeah, I don’t blame her for not showing up. It’s not her responsibility to help him get out of debt.
