Beyonce’s big year just keeps on getting bigger. The singer hasn’t even dropped her fifth studio album yet, and already she’s back in the media on a daily basis and making headlines with her new achievements. Beyonce just wrapped up another very big moment in her career, as her highly anticipated HBO documentary “Life is But a Dream” premiered Saturday, and although it’s been praised by most critics (of course there are some who hated it), it looks like the video might have had major success in another area. According to the numbers released by the cable network, Beyonce’s documentary has the highest ratings the network has seen from any documentary in ten years.

Nielsen reports the documentary ranked in 1.8 million viewers during its first broadcast. That is the largest audience a HBO documentary has had since 2004, and Spike Lee’s 2006 documentary on Hurricane Katrina is the only one that came close to those numbers.

Interestingly enough, “Life is But a Dream” pulled in three times the ratings of the network’s highest rated show, Girls.

And Beyonce’s TV reign didn’t just stop at LIBAD, as the singer also drew in huge numbers for OWN. Her sit down interview with Oprah drew in a little over 1.3 million viewers.

It also appears that Beyonce’s upcoming world tour “The Mrs. Carter Show” is also set to slay. The concert was sold out in major cities in the US everywhere within minutes. As a result, the singer has already started to add second shows in several cities to calm down the fan frenzy.

Congrats to Beyonce on such huge accomplishments.

  1. She needs to add a lot more shows to her concert. The damn tickets were all gone everywhere on the first day of the presale.

      1. Exactly. People can stay hating but she revealed enough for us to understand more. Miss Kim could take some notes.
