Kandi Burruss is engaged to be married to Todd Tucker, and although she has a lawsuit in the works against Kim Zolciak; the reality star and business woman has bigger things to worry about these days. Although Kandi won’t reveal the date of her big day, she did say she is in the middle of planning things. One thing Kandi is set on now is getting a pre-nup. She has been pretty vocal in why she believes in pre-nups, but Kandi says in her recent interview with Upscale Magazine that she thinks pre-nups should be mandatory for all couples, wealthy or not. Kandi covers the April issue of the publication, and talks marriage and Todd Tucker.

On her relationship with Todd, Kandi says:

“The cool thing about Todd and I is that he’s very smart, intelligent. We have so many ideas that we’re planning to make happen together. We’re workaholics. That’s something we’ve been talking about lately, trying to find more ‘us’ time.”

And when it comes to pre-nups, Kandi makes it clear that she feels pre-nups should be a standard for every couple thinking about marriage:

“I don’t see why it’s such a huge topic of conversation. Pre-nups should be standard. Those things should be put in place when everyone is thinking clear-minded. Why would you wait until y’all fall out? People do things to hurt the other when they’re hurt. If I was a man and made that [comment about pre-nups] I don’t think people would’ve even cared, probably.”

  1. Meh, it’s the right thing to do but it makes people feel guilty. Like someone else said, makes people feel like they are planning for a divorce. But it’s being real. A lot of marriages just don’t make it anymore.

  2. I don’t know about everyone else but SHE better have a pre-nup. Todd could very well be a male gold digger. IJS.

  3. Kandi looks absolutely gorgeous on the cover and I love her smile. I agree with her about prenups because you don’t know what could happen in the future and yes sometimes hurt people hurt people. If you are thinking clearly when you sign a prenup there should be no problems if things should not work out.I plan on getting a prenup before I have any children with anyone. I have seen how people seemed so in love when they were married, but as soon as they file for divorce it seems to just bring out the worst in people.Hulk Hogan and his wife?Jon and Kate Gosseling?Steve Harvey and his first wife? The list goes on and on. When Swizz Beats left Mashona she showed us on LAHH how things got neglected like their house. You never know if someone is going to change or not. They say for better or worse and for richer and poorer. Sometimes divorce does just that…..bring out the worse and if you have money they try to hit you in your pockets and make you poorer.Unless you have a prenup. You’re a smart woman Kandi.

  4. Couldn’t have said anything better. I don’t think it leads to divorce, I think it protects you just in case. You already have to deal with the fact you are getting a divorce, why not be prepared so you can move on without any strings that don’t have to be attached.
