As we recently reported, Nicki Minaj is the cover girl for the April issue of Elle Magazine. The female rapper is at a rather interesting point in her career, as she’s tackling more controversy as a new judge on American Idol, and she’s focused on shedding her over the top “Barbie” image. It hasn’t been easy letting go of the image that helped her gain a loyal fan base of “barbs,” but Nicki is rumored to be ready to toss off the multicolored wigs and outrageous clothing, so people can take her more seriously. And it appears that Nicki wants to be taken more seriously because her agenda is bigger than rap. In her interview with Elle, Nicki revealed that she’s dreaming of world domination and creating long-term wealth for her entire family. She also wants to send a message to women who may be giving their all to corporate America, and reminding them that they too can be bosses, even if they do work a nine-to-five.

Nicki’s advice to women:

“My advice to women in general: Even if you’re doing a nine-to-five job, treat yourself like a boss. Not arrogant, but be sure of what you want—and don’t allow people to run anything for you without your knowledge. You want everyone to know, Okay, I can’t play games with her. I have to do right by this woman. That’s what it’s all about.”

On why she’s eyeing world domination:

“My goal in the beginning was to buy my mother a house. Now I realize, Okay, if I really focus and become a key player in business, then I can build an empire. I’m thinking of a legacy that I can be proud of and wealth that my grandchildren can use to go to college. So world domination—in terms of providing for my family—is absolutely my goal.”

She has the right idea. We should all want to create wealth for our families. Much respect.

I really wish this chick would go away. It’s clear that money is her only motivation to be an “artist.” No wonder her music is trash. Ugh.
