Tia Mowry Explains Why She & Cory Hardrict Renewed Their Vows

Tia Mowry might no longer be on BET’s The Game anymore, but she’s still making moves in her career post her controversial exit from the show that is now struggling terribly in ratings. Tia has a new show on the way that is set to premiere on Nickelodeon’s NickMom (the show is called Instant Mom), and things seem to be doing great in her marriage to fellow actor Cory Hardrict. In fact, as we reported recently, the two lovebirds even renewed their wedding vows last weekend. Tia was originally mum about the ceremony, but sources close to the actress told E! News it was a very small ceremony and the guests only consisted of close friends and family members. Onlookers also told the site is was a pretty emotional ceremony and their son Cree was held as they said their vows.

Now Tia has decided to speak out about the ceremony, and she tells US Weekly that the reason she and Cory decided to renew their vows now was because of their son Cree. The couple has been together for 13 years, but they thought by renewing their vows now that they would also be able to celebrate the birth of their son. Tia says:

“Cree was my motivation and inspiration to renew our vows. Cory and I have been together for 13 years and married for five. However, we now have this new miracle in our lives and I wanted to celebrate our love, and what our love together created — Cree!”

 

Tia decided to share photos of the special day on her blog and even wrote to her fans about the special occasion:

Last Saturday, Cory and I renewed our vows on a beachfront in Malibu, California. We’ve been together for 13 years and married for 5 (our 5th anniversary is coming up on the 20th!). We decided to renew our vows as a way to strengthen the sacred promise we made to each other when we got married 5 years ago. I think it’s so important to do that! Whether it’s having a special ceremony like we had, or just small things like surprise flowers after work or a handwritten love note, it’s these things that keep a relationship fresh and bond strong. Cree was actually my motivation and inspiration to renew our vows this year. Cory and I have this new miracle in our lives now and I wanted to celebrate our love, and what our love together created – our precious son! I was so excited to have my little man be a part of this special moment. We kept it small and intimate, with only about 20 guests – of course, Tamera, Adam and Aden were attendance and I was so happy that my sissy and her family were there to celebrate with me.
