The Kanye West blasphemy accusations continue. Kanye is set to drop his new album next month, but he’s already managed to cause plenty of controversy with rumors surrounding the album’s name. Earlier reports suggested the rapper would be naming his album “I Am God,” but ‘Ye’s camp shut down the accusations and instead revealed that he actually has a song on the album called “I Am a God.” Now that Kanye has premiered two singles, “New Slaves” and “Black Skinhead,” those close to the rapper (including girlfriend Kim Kardashian) are hinting the album is entitled “Yeezus.” While many are already impressed with the new music, there are numerous critics slamming the G.O.O.D. Music frontman for allegedly naming his album something so close in sound to Jesus. In fact, “Full House” star Candace Cameron Bure (she played D.J. Tanner) recently stopped by Sway in the Morning, and she blasted Kanye for his new album title. When asked about how she feels about it, she tells Sway Calloway:

“That is way too close…It totally bugs me. I have issues with that.

“There’s a million other names out there … And you could have chosen one that is not one letter off from Jesus. I mean, that’s just a little too close. Come on.

“He’s actually comparing himself to Jesus? Really?! Should any of us be doing that?! Maybe you should change your name to ‘Uda!’”

She also made it clear that she feels Kanye should have more humility for what Jesus did than to choose the album title he reportedly selected:

“I think it’s more, it comes from a humility point of view. That I would be humbled enough for what Jesus did for me that I don’t want to in any way elevate myself or put myself side by side.

“Because I’m humbled by his gratitude.”

Candace also went on to say she doesn’t think it’s acceptable for Jay-Z to call himself Hova in his music either:

“HOVA for Jehova is also way too close. It bugs me. It totally bugs me.”

Do you think Candace Cameron Bure has a point? Check out the clip and leave your thoughts below:

  1. She’s right. I get that they are probably trying to say they are gods of hip hop but it’s not cool. It’s wrong on so many levels.

  2. It’s wrong, period. And while I’m not really fond of Kanye these days, I am actually a Jay-Z fan. But the whole Hova thing never sat right with me. We can never be God or anything close. They are trippin.

  3. Kanye is just too full of himself. He thinks he’s God’s gift to music, but he’s just another arrogant douche bag who raps childish like lyrics over really dope beats someone else made.

  4. Of course she’s right. It doesn’t matter though because Kanye does everything for shock value. That’s why Kim and Kanye are a match made in Heaven. They’ll do anything for attention.

    1. Right! That’s why him hating the paps makes no sense. He lives for the paps to take his pics! If no one cared about Kanye anymore, he’d lose it even more than he already has.

  5. I just want this fool to get his own life! He is trying so hard to be Jay-Z and have what Jay-Z has. He’s making a fool out of himself trying to do it too.

  6. This goes without saying. Of course it’s blasphemy. But Kanye is so full of himself, I’m sure he doesn’t care. He’ll just say it’s “art,” and the people mad just “don’t get it.” Smh.

  7. I agree. And yes, Jay-Z is wrong too. But Hip Hop has always been a genre that promoted arrogance. Rappers have battles, they always compete, and they want to be the best. I can see where the whole god thing comes from. But it’s a line they shouldn’t cross. It’s too much and it’s a blow to the creator.

  8. It’s not that she doesn’t have a point because she absolutely does, I’m just questioning the relevance of asking “D.J. Tanner” about hip hop. Does she even listen to the artists she’s being asked about?

  9. I’d love to know why Kanye acts like he’s the savior of music. He’s not a good lyricist, rapper, and they say he’s not even the one who makes his beats. Does he even write his lyrics? Probably not. He’s just too arrogant for his own good. He’s not the only out here making decent music, but he sure does act like it for some reason.

  10. D.J. Tanner is like some big time conservative/christian. Her brother is too. I expect them to feel this way, but she is most likely an outsider to the music. So this is kind of weird. She’s right, but she’s still an outsider. I do wonder what on earth convinced him to name his album Yeezus though. Beside attention whoring of course.

  11. Kanye just took a page out of Jay-Z’s book. He’s trolling with this album name. He wants people to think he’s dark, a devil worshipper, Illuminati, all that secret society sh-t. Why? Because they know most people don’t read books or have real knowledge. They depend on YouTube to get their “wisdom.” Make a YouTue video and they’ll believe every word of it. So why not keep them talking and make money off it? It’s low down but it’s smart.

  12. I have to agree with her. I try to keep an open mind but I was like he needs to name the album something else. I also don’t agree with “Beysus” and “King/Queen Bey” either. It just doesn’t sit right with me.

    1. What does Beyonce have to do with this? She doesn’t call herself Beysus and what is wrong with any woman considering herself to be royalty? That’s not evil. There’s non-proft organizations across the country teaching little girls to consider themselves as queens and to have high self-esteem. I’m sure you don’t have a problem with Queen Latifah either, do you? That’s not her birth name. You Beyonce haters kill me. #hypocrites

      Ugh.
