Was He Sentenced? Mandeecees Harris’ Lawyer Speaks
By: Amanda Anderson-Niles
Mandeecees sentenced? There hasn’t been many updates concerning the current status of “Love and Hip Hop New York” season three star Mandeecees (Mendeecees, he uses both names apparently via court records and his Twitter account) Harris’s legal status. As we reported recently, he was found not guilty for child molestation charges, however, he still has to see his date in court for federal drug charges. He’s been locked away for several months, but some reports claimed he had been sentenced to 15 years a month ago. Yandy took to her Twitter account to shut down the rumors, and now it appears Mandeecees’ lawyer is also speaking out on his status. Despite all the gossip and difficulty it’s been to locate his current standing, it now appears there’s an answer to his whereabouts. And according to his lawyer, he hasn’t been sentenced yet, and remains in jail. Hip Hop Wired reports:
Harris’ story became a sleeper hit for season three of the show given all its twists and turns. Prior to the drug charges came allegations that the 34-year-old father s-xually abused a teen girl. He was later vindicated of wrongdoing.
Just as that debacle ended, the drug charges popped up.
The native New Yorker is accused of trafficking more than $2 million worth of coke and heroin for a decade. His brother, and another cohort have also been indicted for their roles in the alleged drug scheme.
Hip-Hop Wired reached out to Harris’ lawyer, Donald Thompson, who confirmed that he has not “been found guilty of anything yet, much less sentenced.”
