R&B singer Kelis has been pretty much low key music wise since her split from Nas. While many have been questioning whether or not Nas and Kelis could possibly be working to reunite their failed romance, Nas recently put the rumors to rest and confirmed they are just good friends and peacefully co-parenting. So a comeback with Nas might not be in the near future romantically, but it has been confirmed through numerous reports that she’s set to make her presence known to music again very soon. In fact, it’s rumored a new album for Kelis could be dropping sometime this year, news we’re sure her fans welcome with excitement. But although she is all set to make her comeback to music, it now appears she might be having some money problems; or at least that’s what’s being speculated in recent reports claiming the singer got hit with a tax lien this month. The New York Post is claiming that the federal tax lien is worth $349,015 and it’s one of the biggest reasons she put her New York property up for sale. The publication reports:
Kelis Rogers, the ex-wife of rapper Nas, is unloading her swanky Campiello Collection pad in Chelsea for a cool $2.2 million. Sources said the singer’s shopping the 1,663-square-foot, two-bedroom, two-bath pad, but a Sotheby’s broker with the listing said the offering “is still a work in progress.” This could stem from a $349,015 federal tax lien filed against Rogers this month. She bought the property with a 24-hour doorman and gym in 2005 for $1.3 million.
