J. Cole Drake Jodeci freestyle has rappers under fire? J. Cole and Drake’s time in the rap game has been good to both of them so far. Drake is preparing to drop his highly anticipated third studio album “Nothing Was The Same” while J. Cole’s latest album “Born Sinner” continues to crush all competition on the charts. However, the rappers have caused a stir and offended some people with some lyrics J. Cole rapped on the “Jodeci Freestyle” they did together where J. Cole made a reference to autistic people.

In the song, J. Cole raps:

“I’m artistic, you n*ggas is autistic.”

J. Cole normally gets much props for his clever lyrics however some people were highly offended by his line referencing autism and started up a petition, SPIN reports:

Even though it was released last month, Drake and J. Cole’s “Jodeci Freestyle” is now causing a bit of a sh*tstorm. Specifically, over the Born Sinner rapper’s line, “I’m artistic, you n*ggas is autistic, retarded.”

Turns out some people aren’t too happy about that. As Fact reports, the Anti-Bullying Alliance and autism activist Anna Kennedy are calling on the rappers to offer an official apology and remove the offending lyric from the release. They started a petition on Change.org and it’s already garnered over 2,500 signatures since it was launched on July 13.

“It’s time we recognised people with autism for the exceptional human beings that they are and make a stand,” Kennedy’s statement reads. “Give us a Break!”

The petition only has a goal of 5,000 signatures, which should be reached soon. Then again, Change.org doesn’t exactly have any legal sway over Drake and J., so it’s feasible that nothing will come of this.

  1. Urban Belle, everytime there is a petition going down you post the link to it for us to decide whether or not we will sign. What happened this time? You’re taking up for J-Frankenstein-Cole who claims autistic people are retarded? Interesting.

    1. Nope, sorry to disappoint you but no conspiracy here. The writer decided to just source the original source which lists the petition in the article. Click the link to the original source which is located under “Cole” in the second paragraph. That article has the link to the petition. And it’s here as well if you have an issue with taking an extra step: https://www.change.org/petitions/j-cole-and-drake-an-apology-to-families-and-individuals-with-autism-and-change-the-lyrics-to-that-phrase
