Jay-Z first week sales for “Magna Carta Holy Grail” album have been predicted. Even though his protege’s DJ didn’t have too many nice things to say about it, Jay-Z’s “Magna Carta Holy Grail” album has been a hit among consumers so far, despite the disastrous launch with Samsung. And because Jay is known to bring his “A” game on his solo projects, his fans were already certain his new album would do well on the charts, but they were even more convinced when the announcement was made about the deal Jay landed with Samsung to give away digital copies of “Magna Carta” to select Samsung device holders. A SoundScan representative previously said the deal didn’t necessarily guarantee Jay-Z’s new album would reach platinum status. However, RIAA revealed that they were changing up their certification rules. And according to a recent report from Billboard, Jay-Z’s “Magna Carta Holy Grail” is projected to sell up to 400,000 copies in its first week:

Even though Jay-Z began giving away a million copies of his new album “Magna Carta Holy Grail” on July 4, the set is still bound for a big week once it goes on sale July 9. Industry sources suggest it might sell 350,000 – 400,000 by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, July 14.

“Magna Carta’s” first-week sales forecast is based partly on how well the title is performing with pre-orders through digital retailers. It became available to pre-order via iTunes on July 4.

In turn, the album is seemingly a lock for No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart next week. It would mark Jay-Z’s 13th chart-topper, extending his record as the solo artist with the most No. 1 albums in history. (Only the Beatles, with 19 No. 1s, have more leaders.)

  1. Good for him. I love the album. I expected him to do big numbers considering all the hype he has right now.

  2. King Bey and Hov have the best marketing scheme EVER. She’s doing concerts and releasing new music at her shows, BUT hasn’t dropped an official single because they were waiting on his album to come out. Its like they take turns in the lime-lime, so they are never irrelevant and fall off.
