Teyana Taylor’s party for the Fourth of July didn’t go as smooth as she probably wanted according to reports. R&B singer and rapper Teyana Taylor might be staging a takeover in music as she recently inked a deal on Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music label, but in the meantime, she’s still enjoying the perks of being a socialite when she’s not making music. However, sometimes being a socialite can get nasty. Teyana experienced this first hand on the Fourth of July as she witnessed her BBQ shindig become a hot mess that allegedly resulted in shots fired, helicopters flying above, and a police officer getting injured. The New York Post reports:
A 200-person party hosted by local rapper Teyana Taylor in Morningside Park descended into chaos late yesterday — leaving one cop hurt and a reveler under arrest, police said.
The crowd gathered at around 9 p.m. at West 120th Street and Morningside Avenue and quickly got out of hand, party-goers said on Facebook.“It’s like LA . . . after a riot out here . . . Police everywhere. Helicopters in the sky. Madness,” Aaron Rose posed.
The mob first occupied the park, then moved to the West Side Highway and attempted to climb the fences of Riverbank State Park.
A Housing sergeant injured his shoulder trying to quell the crowd, and a 14-year-old was arrested for firing a gun into the air, police said.
Many party goers took to their Facebook and Twitter accounts to write about the disaster that unfortunately transpired from an event created with good intentions, with some even suggesting things seem to go down south as soon as it got dark outside. Teyana’s party was free for all those who attended, and she threw the BBQ for her hometown of Harlem.
I’m sure some low class people had it in their minds to ruin this party. Idiots.
SMDH. Oh well. That was nice of her anyway. She seems like a cool chick.
Sounds like some stupid thugs crashed and caused some problems. I hate thugs. They don’t do anything but ruin the black community and kill our black men.
