Toni Braxton loses songs after bankruptcy filing? Toni Braxton has never really tried to keep the financial woes she has experienced throughout her career a secret from the public. During her past interview with Oprah Winfrey, Toni opened up to the media mogul about her money troubles and she later admitted in her “Behind The Music” special that she felt Oprah was mean to her on the show and she even claimed Oprah ruined her career. While Toni says she never lost respect for Oprah over the interview, the money problems have continued for the singer. After having to file for bankruptcy back in 1998, Toni had to file for it a second time and lost the battle to keep her mansion in Georgia, resulting in two lost homes for the singer. And after her most recent bankruptcy filing, the singer has now lost over twenty of her hit songs.

Here’s the report from TMZ:

Toni Braxton may still have a song in her heart after filing for bankruptcy, but she just lost more than 2 dozen tunes that made her famous — because some dude bought them right out from under her … TMZ has learned.

TMZ broke the story … Braxton struck a deal in her bankruptcy case, in which she settled with her various debtors. Part of the deal — Toni could buy back 27 songs from her music catalog for $20K — with one BIG string attached … she could be outbid.

Enter a guy named Ross M. Klein, who doubled Toni’s price and nabbed the tunes.

Among the 27 are a few hits, including “You’re Making Me High,” “How Many Ways,” and “Always.”

Although Toni Braxton did lose a number of her songs, the website claims the singer hasn’t lost her classic “Un-Break My Heart” as of yet.

  1. She couldn’t borrow any money from Tamar and Vince sheesh Tamar be flossing like money is no problem.

  2. She wasn’t smart with her money when she had it and signed with LaFace. This was bound to happen. All LaFace did was rip off the artists. Look at TLC. They still don’t have any money.

  3. Read what you are signing and consult with someone if you don’t understand. People have to start being smarter with their money.
