Serena Williams has multiple personalities? Professional Tennis stars Serena and Venus Williams are legends when it comes to the tennis court, but both know full well being a champion doesn’t make you immune to controversy and hardships. Although the sisters have managed to work hard and dominate the sport, oftentimes they find themselves the targets of controversies outside the tennis court. Serena seems to be a magnet for controversy more than her sister these days as she just came under fire for comments she made regarding a high-profile rape case and then one of her own peers slammed her for allegedly dating her married tennis coach.  Regardless, Serena still manages to overcome all of the adversity she’s faced with and she continues to win plenty of important matches, and continues to hold on to the champion spot.

Interestingly enough, both of the tennis stars agreed to partake in a documentary surrounding their personal lives and dominance in tennis. In the documentary which is entitled “Venus and Serena,” Serena reveals she’s able to cope with everything life throws her way by having multiple personalities. In fact, she blames that infamous tongue lashing she gave a line judge in 2009 during the US Open that resulted in her telling her she would shove a tennis ball down her throat on a personality she calls Tequanda. Serena says in the documentary:

“I definitely have different personas. There’s Summer. She helps me out a lot. Like, if I have to write long letters. [Then] there’s Tequanda. Tequanda is rough. She is not Christian. She’s from the ’hood. She was at the US Open in 2009.I wasn’t there, but I heard about it . . . “

The documentary “Venus and Serena” premieres August 23.

  1. I think whenever people have to have multiple personalities to get through life, something is really wrong and they need emotional counseling.

    1. I don’t know if that’s the case. I’m a regular 9-5er so I don’t know what it’s like to be in the spotlight. But she isn’t the only personality to discuss having to have multiple personalities to cope with different situations. Bey even named an album after her “other” self. So I guess I get it. Sometimes that’s just what people have to do to protect themselves from the bull.

  2. That multiple personality crap is some BS. She IS Tequanda. That’s who she really is and she has to be nasty to be a champion. Don’t be ashamed of being hood Serena, your hood card is why they can’t see you on the court. Now crip walk it on out.

  3. Love me some Serena but lately she’s been suffering from diarrhea from the mouth. I need her to get that under control immediately.

  4. If I hear about one more rich person talking about how hard it is to cope, I am going to scream. What about a widowed mother working 3 jobs to raise her kids and make sure they turn out as productive members of society? That is someone trying to cope.

    1. Um actually Serena has spoken about having multiple personalities SEVERAL times. This isn’t new. That’s why she’s talking more about it in the documentary about her life. #shrugs
