That Was Fast: Andre 3000’s Rep Clarifies Reports of Upcoming Studio Album

Andre 3000 and Bog Boi still have their very loyal fans waiting in anticipation for another Outkast studio album, however, each time both rappers give separate interviews and discuss the likelihood of another record, both sound very unsure. Many seem to think Outkast’s future is being held up by Andre 3000, and Three Stacks has even admitted his biggest concern standing in the way of recording another Outkast album is the fans’ continued pressing for new music and being afraid the group will fall short of expectations set by their own supporters. While Bog Boi is still open to another album with Andre 3000, he has focused his attention on his own solo career in the meantime, and recent reports suggest Andre 3000 is doing the same thing. Recently, a BET executive took to Twitter to claim the rapper and actor told him personally he is working on a solo album and plans to drop it early 2014. But now Three Stacks’ rep is saying the album isn’t a “sure thing.” Billboard reports:

But not so fast, 3K fans. True as Hill’s ATLien encounter may be, nothing’s set in stone. Billboard reached out to Andre’s publicist, who says nothing is for certain on the album front.

“Regarding reports of a specific plan to release an album in early 2014,” the rep says, “There is no official confirmation on that report.”

That statement doesn’t completely nix the potential of an Andre 3000 album in 2014. It just means it’s not locked in.

By the looks of the statement, we’re thinking Andre 3000 has been recording new music for a solo album, but nothing has been made official by his label just yet.
