Ciara made it clear she wasn’t going to let the tough times she’s faced throughout her career stop her from pushing forward and cranking out new music for her diehard fans. The R&B singer dropped her fifth studio album “Ciara” and although the tracks “Body Party” and “I’m Out” featuring Nicki Minaj created a lot of buzz for the new album, CiCi’s latest project didn’t pull in big numbers leading Ciara to sell the album on Groupon. Ciara hasn’t let the criticism get to her though as she continues to be in good spirits and is very happy with how things are going with her relationship with rapper Future. As album sales may not be a concern of hers, Ciara admits the idea of failing is something that scares her. Ciara stopped by WPGC 95.5 for an interview with DJ Flexx and spoke about her new album, greatest fears and relationship with Future.

And when asked if she ever made a mistake during a performance on stage, Ciara admits she has slipped up before and reveals one of her most embarrassing moments during a live performance when she forgot the words to a Diana Ross song:

“I forgot the words. I was just recently performing at a really nice event, it was a private event. And it was like you know, some of my peers, Jamie Foxx to Pharrell and Mary J. Blige and just like people in our music were there. And sometimes when you’re around your own peers and friends, I don’t know why you’re like, you really wanna be on point because you know they know the words. And I was singing Diana Ross’ “Upside Down” and I repeated the first two bars like three times. It was weird. I messed up completely. But I just kept acting like it was all good.”

On what her biggest fear is, Ciara says:

“My biggest fear is failure. Failure, yeah. You know, I think it’s like, my biggest fear is failure…Yeah, I just fear failure. I fear like not being able to do a lot of things I want to do. And again, if I don’t give up, I’m gonna get somewhere.”

Ciara also says she doesn’t like listening to her own music because it makes her feel like she’s self-indulging and although she and Future both have busy schedules, they find a way to make time for love.

        1. I’m sure all those drugs or all that hoeing around is going to catch up to her before your delusion of her being talented wears off. I’m sure they don’t call her “herp” for nothing…

  1. Well the music she puts out sucks so I can understand why she doesn’t listen to it. She hasn’t been any good since her first album.

    1. Ciara has way more talent than Rihanna does. Trust she wouldn’t be where she is if she didn’t become trashy. That’s exactly what Miley Cyrus is doing.

  2. I’m really trying to pull for Ciara because at least she does have some talent she needs to revamp her whole team start from scratch and stop focusing on her relationship w/ Future and focus on her career.

  3. Is this a set up? lmao She don’t like listening to her own music…..now she know how others feel about listening to her music. Sheer torture. And the failure part……..Is she delusional? I can just imagine what she sound like singing that Diana Ross song. Lawd

  4. Ciara, how can you improve on you talent, lyrical ability, vocal range, whatever if you don’t listen to your own music? I try to root for her, but come on….
