Djimon Hounsou marriage views revealed? Djimon Hounsou and Kimora Lee Simmons split late last year. And before they called it quits, their relationship was met with some bouts of drama. Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Hounsou battled rumors of their relationship having problems for several months. Thanks to author Kola Boof, the rumors intensified even more as she came forth claiming she had an affair with Djimon Hounsou and took the blame for allegedly breaking the couple up. Djimon’s denial of knowing who Kola Boof was didn’t put a complete end to the talk of his relationship with Kimora being on the rocks. Kimora Lee Simmons finally got fed up with all the chatter about her relationship with Djimon and took it upon herself to set the record straight once and for all about where they stand with each other as she confirmed their separation. Kimora revealed in an interview that she and Djimon are continuing to co-parent with each other despite their split and that they are still friends. Although Kimora and Djimon were said to have never made things official, the actor seems to think the idea of marriage can cause good relationships to turn sour.

Speaking with Hip Hollywood during a press day for upcoming film “Baggage Claim,” Djimon shared his thoughts on marriage and says he feels marriage can actually destroy a union rather than make it stronger:

“The idea of marrying somebody can actually ruin the union. Some people are happily together for decades and they get this fantasy idea to go and get married when it’s just about papers basically, just signing papers…eventually it just goes sour.”

Check out the clip below and tell us what you think of Djimon Hounsou’s comments on marriage potentially ruining relationships:

  1. Sigh…people get on my nerves when they say this. Marriage doesn’t ruin relationships, people ruin relationships!

  2. Smh. Another fool trashing marriage but he went out here and had a baby with someone as if that isn’t bonding to someone for life too. LOL.

    1. Agreed! Good enough to have a baby with but not good enough to marry never understood some people. You can divorce your spouse but you will always be attached to the mother/father of your child.

  3. SMH. Don’t say you can’t stand marriage but you don’t have a problem having kids with people you aren’t married to. It’s very hypocritical. Kids are way more permanent than marriage.

  4. Stupid. I can’t stand it when people get in bad relationships and then they let it distort/taint their whole attitude about marriage. That’s so immature.

  5. Can’t take him seriously when he had kids and a fake marriage with Kimora. Marriage must not be that terrible if you were willing to imitate it!

  6. SMH. We have to get back to valuing marriage. We’re acting like having kids isn’t a big deal and it’s more serious than marriage is. Makes absolutely no sense.

  7. I didn’t even watch the video. The title to this article said enough for me. Sir, please close your mouth about marriage.

  8. I don’t believe that in this day and age marriage is a viable institution.
    In the past marriage worked.
    Today, not so much.

  9. I think it is hilarious how people are so judgmental on his views, like they are going to change your views because he does not believe the way you do. What I think is stupid is how people on here are judging him for his opinion. He doesn’t have to believe in marriage & can have 50 kids out of wedlock. It doesn’t affect your marriage. Also having children is a bond that keeps people connected but they don’t have to live the same life. It is 2 completely different bonds and one has nothing to do with the other. People can co parent and live separate lives and the children can be completely well adjusted and happy. It is 2013 not 1913.

    1. You sound hypocritical. You say we shouldn’t judge this man for having his opinion, but yet here you are judging us for having ours. It goes both ways. He can have his and we can have ours. And if you don’t like people having and sharing their opinions on here, maybe you shouldn’t read blogs or any other website that allows people to leave their comments which are actually their *wait for it*…OPINIONS.
