R&B singer R. Kelly has easily secured legendary status when it comes to the genre, and even successful newbies like Trey Songz have credited the singer and songwriter for inspiring them to pursue careers in music. Despite R. Kelly’s honorable contributions to music, his personal life has been plagued with scandal and many suspect that infamous tape of him allegedly sleeping with an underage girl who turned out to be R&B singer Sparkle’s niece may have soured his career. R. Kelly was found not guilty when he appeared in court over the tape, but he hasn’t managed to generate much interest with his new music as of late. His upcoming album “Black Panties” was set to drop on November 11, but Rolling Stone confirmed that it has been pushed back to December 10. Although sources claim the delay is a result of “last minute tweaks,” whispers in the industry claim the real set back is the lack of buzz his new music is getting. But his reps claim it’s purely tweaks in the mastering process and nothing more.

R. Kelly’s most recent track to hit the internet is the very sexual  “Cookie,” but the album’s entire theme is a lot more sexually focused. Song titles such as “Girls Kissing Girls,” F*ckin’ With the Lights On” and a song in which he proclaims himself to be a sexual genius appropriately titled “Genius” confirm this.

Despite how controversial the song titles are, R. Kelly isn’t getting lots of love on the radio these days. Despite that, he’s expressed that’s he is quite proud about his upcoming album and he feels he isn’t going anywhere. Check out his track “Cookie” below.

  1. I think his time has come and passed. His new music is a lot more vulgar than I expected and he sounds like these young dudes. That’s not a good thing either.

      1. LOL! I got it from that Nicki Minaj song, I can’t remember the name of it but she was dissing Lil Kim. That part was so hilarious to me.

  2. I didn’t even know he had a new album coming out! I don’t listen to the radio much and the blogs don’t talk about him like that.

  3. The problem is the music isn’t good. It doesn’t sound like it’s from R. Kelly. On some songs he’s using that horrible auto tune ish, and then he keeps talking about how big his dyck is in another. He’s too old for the music he’s making and it’s just not working. He should go back to the step in the name of love thing, it worked for him because he’s gotten too old for the R&B thug thing.

  4. From what I’ve heard so far, he needs to scrap that whole album. It’s complete trash and he can come way harder than that. And I hate the song they play on the radio now. I think it’s called I’m Sticking To It or something like that. I change the station every time it comes on.

  5. And honestly, he has a new song coming out with Lady Gaga. If he was smart, he would use that promo to push his own album. I’m sure he won’t though. These older artists don’t know how to promote themselves in a social media age.

  6. No offense, but why does R. Kelly get a pass for being a child molester from black folks? I mean I see black folks drag MJ in the mud, but not R. Kelly. And there was actually proof that he molested kids. Crazy.
