Recording artist and music producer Akon has had lots of success in music, but he’s always made it clear that he would rather keep his personal life private. However, he recently chatted it up with the TMZ paparazzi and opened up about his views on monogamy. Turns out he doesn’t think it’s possible for monogamy to actually work and he cites men naturally being “breeders” for why some of them turn to cheating in relationships. He says:
“I think America adapted (sic) that culture [men having multiple women], there would be less domestic disputes.
“The average guy in the world has a main girl and a side chick. Then they got a jump off. As a male, we’re natural breeders by nature so we can’t even escape it if we wanted to.”
He then goes on to say that men were specifically put on the earth to breed and women are here to get pregnant:
“Men were put on this earth to breed. And the reason why God put multiple women on this earth is for that.”
And when it comes infidelity, Akon seems to think it’s not in women to cheat:
“I don’t know one woman that can satisfy one man’s every needs. It’s impossible. There’s no one man that could satisfy a woman’s every need. But women aren’t built to breed like that or multiply mate with one partner. Women aren’t built that way, men are.”
Interestingly enough, Akon reportedly has six children with three different women (he allegedly has three wives). Check out the video and tell us what you think about Akon’s comments below:

This is such rubbish. Look, I cheat and have cheated on numerous occasions. I have commitment issues and I’m not a man. It’s crazy to know that some men are so sexist and ignorant to think that women can’t cheat too or that we don’t desire to get it in too. I’m young and I don’t feel like settling down. And gasp! I have a v-gina. Humans are cheaters by nature. Has nothing to do with the gender. To be faithful comes with a choice, it’s hard but it can be done if someone really wants to do it.

Whether monogamy is natural or not is really not the point? If a man doesn’t want to be monogamous he should say so. Then his partner would know what they’re dealing with. The problem in most relationships is cheating! If a man or woman doesn’t want to be with only one person at one time be up front with it. Yea I bet if he wasn’t rich and famous he wouldn’t be this vocal.

I am really tired of people trying to speak up for a whole gender like every man thinks the same way. The only reason I don’t buy into this BS Akon is talking is because I know better. My father wasn’t out here spreading his sperm around. And my husband comes home every night because he wants to. I never settled or bought into the whole men are animals and can’t control themselves crap because I didn’t have to. #shrugs
I’m not married, but I feel this. I hold people responsible for their actions. I don’t care if you’re a man or not, if you cheat on me you’re wrong. You didn’t do the right thing and you made the conscious choice to be unfaithful. You don’t get a pass because of what’s between your legs. GTFOH.
Men are not animals incapable of making sound choices with their bodies. So he can miss me here with all this.

Women cheat just as much as men do and if i’m not mistaken a recent study showed that we actually cheat more. So I don’t know what the hell Akon’s a-s is talking about.
The only thing I agree with is that monogamy is not natural. That’s true for both genders. It takes a lot of work and effort to be faithful and to commit! Women struggle with it too. It’s a shame Akon is stuck in the Flintstone Age!
Not all men think the same. I know I come on here and type up crazy sh-t but I actually am happy and satisfied with one woman. It’s just being on some grown man sh-t. Apparently Akon ain’t on that.

To each its own but people need to be honest about what they want to do. No one has to get married or be in a relationship. If you want to sleep around. Do that! Just don’t front and pretend you’re committed. The world would be a better place if more people kept it 100!
