If you’ve been keeping up with the news as of late, then you have heard of Mike Brown’s tragic story. Brown was a 18-year-old young black man who was gunned down in Missouri a few days ago and shot 10 times by a police officer although he had his hands up in the air and was actually surrendering to officers in Ferguson.

Brown was just days away from attending his first day of college at Vatterott College.

As people are coming together and protesting for justice, BET talk show host and actress Keke Palmer’s tweets have caused plenty of controversy and debate.

When Keke began to get slammed for the tweets (especially the MLK one), she then posted the following videos to her Instagram account:

  1. Keke is very young. I’m sure her opinions on race relations will change in a few years you know when real life happens.

  2. No offense but this is how a lot of young black people feel. They really believe in that whole rainbows and butterflies in the sky myth. LOL.

  3. Oh lawd Keke needs to really sit her self down somewhere. White people were just dragging her because they are pissed her naive behind will be the first black cinderella on broadway.

  4. Because you’re a talk show host doesn’t mean you always need to be talking. Especially when you’re not say anything of any real substance. Somehow her message got lost in her love of the sound of her own voice.

She’s young, life has a lot to teach her.

  5. Wait a minute. Did she not know Mike was murdered by a white cop and not another black man? That first tweet makes me think she didn’t even know who killed him.

  6. I like Keke. But she really needs to humble herself and understand the situation for blacks in this country is way more complicated than she wants to admit. I’m sure Mike was hopeful and believed he could have more in life and sadly he was murdered.

  7. She just doesn’t get it. But my problem with Keke is she hops on social media voicing her opinion and speaking on subjects without thinking it through. This isn’t the first time she has said something out of line. I just feel like she always speaks on subjects without really knowing about it. Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

  8. Bish didn’t even know Mike wasn’t killed by another black man. So she can keep her little motivational speeches to herself.

  9. I’m just going to assume that she’s out of touch with the struggle for non famous blacks in america. That way, I won’t have to call her stupid because I actually like her.

  10. I think a lot of famous black people are disconnected from what us non famous blacks go through. But that’s a subject for another day.

  11. We’ll see what she says when the roles and opportunities start drying up because she’s not white and privileged. She needs to talk to black actresses who have been in the business for 25 years plus. She has no clue.

  12. She just said what a lot of these young black kids think. They didn’t grow up in a time where they had to deal with racial injustice firsthand. They don’t even learn their history in school. They are the same ones who couldn’t see why Lil Wayne’s Emmett Till lyric was unacceptable. I weep for their naivete and ignorance.

  13. Keke is really young and she has a lot to learn about how this whole being black thing works. A reality check will come eventually, especially with her being a black actress. So I won’t hold this against her.
