Rihanna has always been an open book when it comes to her upbringing, and the pop star claimed in numerous interviews that her father struggled with drug issues throughout her childhood. Despite his issues, Rihanna still continues to try to maintain a relationship with her father, but sources claim he put a slight damper on her first annual Diamond Ball by showing up drunk even though Rihanna paid for him to attend an expensive rehab program in Miami.
Following the drama at the ball, Ronald Fenty spilled all the tea with the Daily Mail and revealed he’s not fond of Rihanna’s best gal pal Melissa Forde.
The Daily Mail writes:
But when asked if Rihanna may have inherited some of his demons he admits he worries about her.
He says: ‘Of course there’s always a worry in the back of my head. There’s a worry in the back of my head with her friends, even some of her family.’
One thing that annoys him is some of the large entourage of so-called friends she surrounds herself with.
He recalled a shopping trip in London with Rihanna and a group of friends where he watched them all buy stuff for themselves with her money.
He said: ‘What’s the name of that place, that very expensive place, Harrods. We going in there and I just see her friends, stocking up on shoes like crazy. Parasites – whatever you want to call them – that need to go and have their own life.’
Ronald doesn’t like Rihanna’s best friend Melissa Forde who grew up with her in Barbados and seems to constantly be by her side as she travels the world.
He said: ‘If it was me she would have to go, if I had anything to do with it she would have to go.
‘She’s the one who goes shopping and everything.
‘I think Melissa should be old enough to be able to stand on her own two feet, of course come and visit her like the rest of her friends but she doesn’t need to be there all the time.
As far as the ball is concerned, Ronald claims he did apologize to Rihanna for showing up drunk.
Just goes to show that family doesn’t always have your best interest at heart. This wife beating, alcoholic needs to sit his a-s down. It’s by keeping her friends and family from B’dos around her, that’s kept Rihanna grounded. Her dad just wants to be the new Matthew Knowles.
I feel like her dad is the one who isn’t loyal. He’s the one that was pushing her to get back with Chris after he hurt her. What kind of father does that to his daughter? Only one who sees himself in Chris.
I agree about Melissa. Sorry, that child has been eating too good off Rih and has the nerve to boast about Rihanna’s money and status like it’s her own. That’s a sign of a user. I remember that time she actually tried to drag Kae about being kicked out the club and she was only in VIP because she came with Rihanna. I have been side eying her ever since.
Cosign. I don’t like Melissa. That bish is very messy and if your friend is a damn pop star, you don’t need to be on Twitter starting twitter beefs with people because it only draws negative press to Rihanna.
Melissa is just saying the things Rihanna can’t say. She shades the people who hurt her best friend. I would do the same for my friends.
Was he drunk when he did this interview. He may have issues, but if that’s how he feels about Rih’s friends, it’s kind of understandable. It has to make him feel some kind of way to see Rih work so hard and have so many “friends” war off her. But it is her money and she has a right to spend how she wants to.
Daddy Fenty needs to shut his mouth. This is not something he needs to be discussing.
It’s not like he told any lies though. Melissa is a damn leech. She isn’t even trying to get a job and make her own money. And I don’t like how messy she is either.
Rihanna is a smart woman and she’s grown. She knows who her friends are and who is using her. I don’t think Melissa is using her at all. I love their friendship.
I think he shouldn’t give interviews out of respect for Rihanna. By doing so he’s just risking his relationship with her.

The Daily Mail is taking advantage of this man. They continue to call him and ask him to dish dirt on his daughter and he falls for it every single time.
See this is why Rihanna has the issues with men that she has. She can’t even trust her own father it’s sad. Why are you running your mouth when your daughter did nothing but try to help you? Now I can’t stand Melissa and I do think she is a leech but one thing can’t be disputed is her loyalty to Rihanna hell she more loyal than her own father.
Poor Rihanna.
He has nothing to worry about. Rihanna’s friends love her and are not taking advantage of her.
You never know who’s your real friend until the money goes away. I don’t trust Melissa and never did.
He’s been a fck up her entire life. I think I trust her judgment over his.
Even Ray Charles could see Melissa is using Rihanna for her money and fame. She gets to enjoy the perks of fame without doing any work. Why get mad at Rihanna’s father for saying the obvious?
