Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill are getting mixed reactions on their romance, especially since it was rumored initially that they started having romantic feelings for one another while she was with her longtime beau Safaree Samuels.
Interestingly enough, R&B singer Trey Songz defended the couple and he claims they didn’t get together until Safaree and Nicki were officially done.
He tells Capital Xtra:
“They was done. Meek was in jail, he came out to that!
“That’s my man though, I got nothing but love, I remember when both of us was dusty with like braids that needed to be redone over and over. Meek is my man, I’m so happy to see him successful.”

It doesn’t matter when they got together, she still can and should do much better than Meek Mill. And the way he talks about her makes me think he’s in it for the attention and the connections she has. What has he even done the 5 years he’s been out? None of his albums were even successful.

Sadly Trey doesn’t see the real shade is the interviewer was more interested in Nicki Minaj and her new boy toy than anything he has going on right now. And that’s a shame because I can tolerate him more than most of the male R&B “singers” out now. That reminds me, where the hell is Miguel? I love his music.
