Rapper Jadakiss has been in the Hip Hop game for years, and he’s widely regarded as a very strong lyricist.
With a new album out (Top 5 Dead or Alive), the rapper took advantage of featuring younger artists on his tracks, but not everyone is happy about the fact that he was on Chief Keef’s “I Don’t Like” remix.
Jadakiss has some words for anyone who feels he’s too good of a rapper to collaborate with Chief Keef.

I mean this is how Jay Z thinks too. You can’t stay relevant if you refuse to work with younger artists. That’s why Jay and Kiss are known to the youngins….they don’t discriminate. As long as you cut the check, they will meet you in the studio lol.

I can’t say I had an issue with this collaboration, primarily because I barely ever listened to the song. The only gripe I have with Chief Keef overall is the life he appears to promote. I work with a lot of adolescent boys that love his music and other artists like him, and they find substance abuse and violence to be admirable – which is largely attributed to what they listen to. I am a firm believer that artists don’t raise children – parents do. However, all children aren’t afforded that luxury, and for some, the music they listen to contributes to the path they take, especially when it’s in line with their environment. I say all that to say, that would be my only issue with Jada working with him, not because he’s a “better” artist…

It’s not about feeling superior. It’s about not rewarding lackluster talent. If more of our talented rappers/singers had higher standards about who they worked with, it would force people to start taking their music more seriously.
I couldn’t have said it any better. Back in the day you had to work hard for a cosign. It was considered an honor to have a legend do a feature with you. Now popularity is all it takes. And Hip Hop has suffered greatly for it. There’s really no motivation to be dope anymore.
