Basketball Wives Recap: Evelyn Upsets Cristen + Malaysia & Brandi Call Tami’s Bluff

The friend trio is on their way to Palm Springs.

Evelyn, Tami and Shaunie are riding in the limo to the Palm Springs trip. They rundown of the cast members who will be on Evelyn’s trip. Evelyn also invited her stylist friend to surprise Cristen with a makeover.

Evelyn didn’t tell her about the makeover and Tami lets her know that Cristen may not be happy about it. However, Evelyn brushes it off.

Tami and her trio arrive first and they choose the best rooms. Cristen arrives next followed by Jackie and Malaysia.

Jackie and Malaysia drive down together. When they arrive, they greet the new friend trio making up an air mattress in the living room of the retreat.

Malaysia and Jackie are forced to sleep in a room with bunk beds.

“I’m visibly shaken… I wasn’t expecting this.” -Jackie

Bonnie-Jill arrived next as they played Never Have I Ever.

Things turned interesting when Malaysia said, “never have I ever slept with a married man.” Tami stared Evelyn down and Shaunie palmed her head.

“You know exactly which man you slept with because he was my husband.” -Tami

“I guess I slept with a married man but [Tami] filed the divorce paperwork.” -Evelyn

Tami isn’t happy about Evelyn’s actions during the game and calls her a hoe in a confessional.

Next, the group asks Malaysia about Brandi and Malaysia followed by asking the trio if they missed Brandi.

Tami reiterated she doesn’t like her and doesn’t want to be around her. She also mentions that Brandi instigated the altercation between her and Diffey.

Malaysia rolled her eyes and thinks Tami is reaching.

“I don’t think she should place the blame on Brandi… As long as Malaysia Pargo is here, Brandi Maxiell will still be around.” – Brandi

Cristen is furious about the makeover offer.

Evelyn is looking to forget about the awkwardness from the previous night. So she has them have breakfast and mimosas by the pool.

When they settle in, Evelyn proposes to Cristen she wants to give her a makeover. Cristen takes offense to the offer. She thinks that the other ladies believe she is fat.

“B*** are you serious?” -Cristen

Cristen excuses herself from breakfast and Evelyn feels bad. Shaunie pulled the “I told you so card” but agreed with the premise of the makeover in her green screen interview. As you recall, she brought up her outfit choices in last weeks episode.

The stylist Saniy-yah arrives and Cristen isn’t feeling her. When it reveals that Jackie knew about the makeover offer, Cristen confronts her about knowing about it. Jackie lied about it apparently.

“…you are T R A S H. Trash!” – Cristen

After some coaxing from the group, Cristen reluctantly agrees to the makeover.

Cristen and the stylist are in for a rough time

Evelyn’s stylist Saniy-yah and Cristen walk off and meet her assistant. The stylist alludes that she will show her how to work a new style while for less money, assuming that Cristen is broke.

When Evelyn walks into the room, she is surprised at what Saniy-yah has laid out. She says, “I want her to be dressed appropriately for her size.”

This doesn’t sit well with Cristen, who reveals she is insecure with her weight gain from the miscarriage.

“This makeover is honestly triggering all of my insecurities.” -Cristen

The stylist takes another shot at Cristen and tells her she lacks style. Cristen takes offense to this and the two of them begin to argue.

Cristen walks out of the room before things escalate.

Malaysia and Bonnie-Jill console Cristen when she walks out.

Cristen is angry about this, especially at Evelyn. Evelyn approaches Cristen and apologizes for the stylist’s behavior while Tami and Shaunie playfully try on the wigs. Jackie, meanwhile brings over the stylist to Cristen to apologize.

When the stylist walked into the room, Evelyn begins to cry, apparently to keep things calm between Evelyn and Saniy-yah.

Cristen and Evelyn have one more sit down.

“I knew I was making fun of her biker shorts but I did not know she had body issues.” -Evelyn

Evelyn pulls her to she side one more time and apologizes. She reiterates that she was trying to be helpful and not be negative about the whole situation. She accepts the apology and joins the ladies and Saniy-yah. However, things seem to be still testy between Cristen and the ladies.

Malaysia brings back Brandi, much to the annoyance of the OGs.

The ladies decide to head out to have dinner and drinks.

Jackie decides to probe into Saniy-yah’s love life and asked if she ever dated a basketball player. She says’ “he was the top player.” She also confirms that the player has three kids. Shaunie took offense to this because she knows the player Saniy-yah is referring to.

“…you are a home wrecker.” – Shaunie

Saniy-yah begins to shed tears and says she was with the player two days before he got married. Meanwhile, Malaysia brings Brandi to the table. Tami is infuriated by this and gets up to leave with Evelyn and Tami.

Brandi and Malaysia follow them and asks them why they are leaving, with Brandi accusing them of being “intimidated “of her.

  1. I don’t understand why Brandi and Malaysia are so full of themselves. If they really brought something to the show then VH1 wouldn’t have hired all these new people and brought back Evelyn and Jennifer. You can’t be cocky when you haven’t been able to carry the show.

  2. Why is it that Malaysia and Brandi are so pressed about being around people who don’t want to be around? If Tami, Ev and Shaunie don’t like Brandi or want to be around her, who cares? They seem real thirsty and immature about it. I’m not going to spend my time chasing behind people who don’t like me. Film with the other ladies and call it a day.

  3. Evelyn was wrong for trying to give Cristen a makeup she never asked for. I see bits and pieces of the b-tch that she used to be are starting to show.
