Towanda updates Tamar and Toni about Evelyn’s rant.
After Evelyn goes off about Michael and Miss Wanda showing up to Mexico to Towanda and Trina, Towanda informs Tamar and Toni about how upset Evelyn is about the situation.
Towanda thinks they need to do something to help Evelyn heal. She suggests that Evelyn and Wanda meet and talk everything out.
Tamar agrees that Evelyn does need to heal but she doesn’t think it’s a good idea for Evelyn and Wanda to meet.
Towanda updates Evelyn on her divorce from Andre.
Andre has not signed the divorce papers and Towanda is getting frustrated. He’s also not wavering on wanting full custody of the kids.
Towanda realizes more and more that her mother needs closure as she discusses her messy divorce with Andre.
Toni confides in Towanda about her fear of falling for Birdman.
“I have anxiety and bubbles in my tummy and stuff. I don’t know what’s wrong with me.” – Toni
Things are really going good with her and Birdman, but it scares her. Towanda tells her that she’s just afraid to be happy and it’s all in her head.
Toni is also having issues with her voice. Her voice is going in and out, and she’s upset it could affect her singing career.
Toni isn’t the only one nervous about things. Towanda’s mind is on her divorce with Andre, and he called her earlier in the day to ask if they could meet because he made an important decision she needs to hear.
Towanda and Andre meet and he makes a major decision.
After they discuss Michael bringing Wanda to Mexico, Andre tells Towanda that he can’t be cool with her if she ever marries someone else.
Towanda thinks he doesn’t mean it and he’s just really hurt.
He tells her that he’s made a decision regarding custody of the kids.
“I’ve thought about it and I’ve come to the conclusion that I want the kids to be with me but I also want my kids to be with you.” – Andre
Andre says in a confessional that he understands now that the kids really need her too and Towanda really made it clear how much it would hurt her if she lost them.
They agree that Andre gets the LA property and she keeps the GA and MD properties.
They toast to a peaceful divorce.
Toni thinks Lupus could be affecting her voice.
Toni tells Tamar that resting her voice hasn’t helped. But Tamar urges her to be patient and give it time.
Toni is used to getting flare ups, but the current flare up she is experiencing is concerning her because she’s really tired and she’s not even touring. She feels like a hospital visit could be in the near future for her.
The sisters have a sit-down with Evelyn.
Towanda tells the sisters that her divorce from Andre is final and they both have joint custody over the kids.
Toni informs Evelyn and her sisters about the issues she’s been having with her voice box. They all show concern before Toni lightens the mood by pondering a rap career.
They eventually bring up the Mexico trip and Tamar asks Evelyn why she left early.
Evelyn explains that she felt like Michael and Miss Wanda invaded her space and she’s not buying the tears Miss Wanda cried at the dinner.
In fact, she recalls Wanda showing up at the church at a celebration for her wedding anniversary with Michael years ago, and Michael inviting Wanda to his birthday party, referring to her as his coworker.
She can’t respect that any woman would agree to sleep with a married man and begin a relationship with someone who has a wife.
She feels her daughters are being sympathetic to Wanda because they don’t know the real her.
Tamar eventually spills the beans and tells Evelyn that Toni was the one who invited Michael and Wanda to dinner.
They ask Evelyn if Wanda apologizing would give her closure but she explains that Wanda would never do that because she doesn’t feel like she did anything wrong.
So Evelyn just wants her space and Tamar and the rest of the sisters have decided to respect that. For now, a blended family just isn’t realistic and everyone is ok with that.
What are your thoughts on the episode?
This was a good season. But they need to leave Evelyn alone. She doesn’t owe Wanda anything.
I still can’t believe Toni is dating Birdman.
I think the kids need to just let things be.
Maybe her throat and tummy issues is not lupus related and steams from an STD that nasty bi sexual bird man gave her. Yuck!
I was surprised Andre changed his mind.
