‘Claws’ Recap: Roller Returns to Palmetto + Desna is in Danger

Roller walks into the nail salon and freaks everybody out.

The episode opens with Desna telling Jenn that Roller is alive. Virginia showed them a picture of Roller at Art South Beach.

As this is going on, Hank comes in to give Jenn flowers and they openly flirt in front of the other women. Desna encourages Dean to leave with Hank to stop the flirting. When Dean asks why he has to go, Hank tells him, “ They need to have lady talk.” Dean is okay with leaving now that he has this bit of information.

Shortly after they leave, Roller walks in, scaring all of them. He asks Desna for a hug. After a bit of apprehension, Desna walks up for a hug. After the hug, Roller tells him how Miss Honeychurch nursed him back to health. As Desna offers to take Roller to Uncle Daddy’s, the other ladies insist they go with them to protect Desna. Only Virginia stays behind.

Uncle Daddy and Roller are reunited.

At Uncle Daddy’s house, he is celebrating with Circus, Lamont, and Toby as their expansion into Georgia is running smoothly. Suddenly, Uncle Daddy notices a painting of a Catholic Saint with a red, bloody tear drop forming, signaling a miracle. The miracle is Roller walking back into the house, which happens in slow motion. Roller appears to Uncle Daddy with a white glow, just as the painting of the saint crying appears.

Everyone is in shock as they see Roller return with Desna, Jenn and the others.

Uncle Daddy calls in Dr. Ken to check in on him. Later on, his brother Bryce runs in ecstatic, happy to see his brother. Meanwhile, Ken tells everyone Roller has traumatic memory loss, meaning he has no memory of the incident. This relief for Desna is short-lived as Ken says his memory of the incident could come back at anytime.

As Desna and Roller catch up, Desna notices something is not right.

An excited Uncle Daddy is going to throw a party to celebrate Roller’s return. Meanwhile, Desna takes Roller to get some lunch and to catch up. Roller asks if Desna really missed him while he was gone. Desna says yes and questions why he asked this. He also tells Desna how Miss Honeychurch held him captive. He also says his experience in captivity gave him a new prospective.

“Women can do some crazy dark sh*t when they want.” – Roller

He then asks to be taken back to her place. Desna is hesitant about this. She asks him if she remembers him threading his eyebrows. She texts Jenn to let her know that Roller is coming to her place, and she is really worried. Jenn and the others think Roller is trying to get Desna alone so he can kill her.

However, they feel relieved somewhat when Virginia tells them Dean took the bus home and will be there when they arrive.

At Desna’s house, Desna and Roller have a love making session. However, things seem different. Roller asks Desna to be on top. While on top, Roller has Desna feel the bullet wound. The next morning, Desna wakes up to see her draws ransacked and Roller’s phone with a text saying, “Roller-where is $?”

Greg and Roller cross paths.

In the kitchen, Roller is having breakfast with Bryce, Jean and their daughters. Dean is with them eating breakfast. Greg stops by randomly with breakfast of his own. She keeps him outside, persuading him to come back another time, telling him she has family over. As this happens, Roller walks outside and sees the two of them wrapping up a kiss. Roller is surprised by this but introduces himself to Greg anyway.

Bryce, Jenn and their kids come outside and Roller tells Desna he’s going with Bryce to the clinic. When they all leave, Greg asks who he is. Desna tells them that she and Roller were an item back in the day but they are not no longer an item.

Roller wants back into running the clinic, but Uncle Daddy has other plans.

At the clinic, Ken openly wonders why and how Roller is alive.

“You Rednecks have nine lives.” – Dr. Ken

Ken also praises Bryce for keeping things organized with the online patent records. Bryce expresses gratitude to Ken saying, “I’m just trying to be my authentic best, Ken.”

“Living a life that builds a legacy.” – Bryce

Ken tries to show Bryce how he knows the system on his computer, but shows p*rn instead.

In another part of the Clinic, Roller tries to go into the supply room where the pills are, but he can’t get in. Uncle Daddy sees him and Roller tells him he is ready to get back to work. Bryce tells him their MRI truck is increasing revenue by twenty percent. Uncle Daddy tells him that Bryce has things really humming at the clinic and Roller should rest. In anger, Roller gets into Bryce’s face.

When Roller Leaves, Uncle Daddy tells Bryce he wants Roller to enjoy himself at that party as he spent a bunch of money on it.

At Uncle Daddy’s party, Roller reveals who tried to take him out.

It’s the day of the party celebrating Roller’s safe return home and everyone appears to be having a good time. Uncle Daddy and his wife get on the mic to give a speech, dedicating the party to Roller. They thank God for Roller returning and propose a toast to the crowd.

When the speech ends and the party turns up again, Desna runs into Roller. She asks him if he is okay and tells him she noticed the constant text messages. Roller tells her he’s good and asks for a dance. He also apologizes for messing with Virginia but knows she and Greg are an item.

“I know you and that fool got something going on, but… you gimme one more chance… we’ll be good together.” – Roller

Meanwhile, Ann, Ken and Polly are looking upon Desna and Roller with a keen eye. Later on, Dean and Virginia catch up with Desna and Roller getting some food. Roller compliments Dean’s physique, noting he’s been working out. Dean tells Roller, “I like to be strong for my sister and my girlfriend,” revealing Virginia as his girl.

When Dean tells Desna and Roller he and Virginia had sex and he was the only one to give her an org*sm, Virgnia blushes. Desna says, “You what,” prompting Dean to go into details of how he did it.

Roller proceeds to give Dean some interesting advice, which puts Desna and Virginia on pause, making it seem the forgetfulness is an act.

“Be careful with this one, she’s not as innocent as she looks.” – Roller

Back inside, Desna catches Jenn at the bar. After a few quips about Jenn being around alcohol, Desna tells her that someone is texting Roller, demanding money he owes them. Roller walks by before any more details could be given. Roller then talks to Bryce, who’s with Ann, telling him he wants back in the clinic. Bryce suggests he take over running the mobile MRI truck, which Roller declines.

When Bryce tells him Uncle Daddy wants him to keep running the clinic, things begin to get heated between the two of them.

“This is bulls***! We got a crackhead that’s more reliable than me.” – Roller

Bryce is angered by Roller’s sudden sign of aggression, and proclaims that he will remain in charge, whether Roller likes it or not.

“Things have changed. The crackhead is in charge now.” – Bryce

After their shouting match, Bryce and Jenn are talking outside. Bryce is angered by Roller’s desire to run the clinic. Jenn thinks they may need to step away to focus on remaining sober. However, Bryce thinks they can commit to this, and presents a new wedding ring to her. This upsets Jenn, who feels he doesn’t understand the seriousness of their situation. As Jenn walks away from Bryce, Dean is giving a push-up demonstration with Virginia on his back and Ann counting them off to an excited crowd.

Next, Ken and Polly are at a table drinking, gossiping about Desna and Roller. Polly tells Ken that Roller still has feelings for Desna. When Ken asks why, Polly gets really flirtatious. Ken asks her what she wants, Polly replies, “Me squeezing your nipples as I ride you like a po-go stick.” They rush off to an outdoor shower for a quickie.

Roller walks outside and talks to the two Russians who saved him from Miss Honeychurch. They are demanding $150,000 dollars from him in the next 24 hours. When he questions why, they drive off.

Later on, Roller and Desna are dancing, Roller suddenly passes out when they hear a loud noise. This causes everyone to panic. Uncle Daddy gets him and sits him in a chair to wake him up.

Roller tells Uncle Daddy and everyone at the party that the Russian twins set him up. One of them tried to choke him out and then the other shot him. This puzzles Uncle Daddy, who then ends the party.

The girls try to figure out why Roller placed blame on the Russians.

Outside, Desna and the girls are desperate to figure out why Roller would do this. Desna tells them that the Russians got to have something on him and are they are demanding money. Polly feels Roller needs to be taken out for good. Polly tells them that the Russians run a check cashing place in town. As they are discussing this, Dean begins to have a panic attack because he can sense something bad is about to happen. They get him into the van with Virginia.

Desna tells them once they get him home, they will need to head out later and scope out the check cashing place.

Uncle Daddy is with Roller, Bryce, Lamont and Circus planning what to do about the Russians. Uncle Daddy tells everyone that the Dixie Mafia members in Georgia said they need to hold off for now. Roller questions this and Bryce says, “Georgia runs everything below the Mason-Dixon Line. You don’t cross them.”

Circus then says, “You do, and it’ll be your last time.” Roller pleads with Uncle Daddy to take them out “Husser-style,” saying it was an attack on their family. While Uncle Daddy agrees with Roller, he doesn’t want to upset their mafia family in Georgia with his pill business expanding. Lamont interjects saying Georgia could agree to the attack. This prompts Bryce to open up a large briefcase full of weapons, proclaiming that they will be ready to strike.

Meanwhile, Ann and Polly are scoping out the check cashing place. When they see the twins leave, they go in and question the girls working the front. After a bit of persuading, the girls tells them Roller gives them $30,000 every week.

At the clinic, the girls are working on cracking the case as Ken is pressing Polly after their love-making session at the party. Ken is pressing Polly because he claims she blew him off after their time at Uncle Daddy’s party. Ken tells everyone about what happened between them and he called her 3 times the night before.

Polly tries to play it off but Ann and Desna overhear them. Desna gets them back on track, telling them to look for any invoice with Roller’s name on it before he got shot.

With this search. Desna discovers a company invoice called Tigel Labatories. However, this is a fake company that he used to give them money.

“That’s Legit spelled backwards. This is Roller’s a**.” – Desna

Desna has them looking for other invoices from Tigel, suspecting he made a fake company to deposit money under at the Russian check-cashing spot. Ann finds more Tigel invoices, confirming Desna’s hunch. They call the number on the invoice but it’s disconnected. Polly says they should go to Uncle Daddy with this information because it will protect Desna.

“He will punish that boy and you’ll be safe.” – Polly

However, according to Desna, they “have to play this just right.”

Jenn wants Bryce to open up about the Coombses, but Bryce isn’t budging.

Jenn is out front of Uncle Daddy’s home waiting on Bryce. He eventually comes out, apologizing for staying as long as they did. When she asks if he wants to talk about the Coombses, Bryce says, “No. I’m Good.”

Jenn presses Bryce on this, telling him that he knows they had nothing to do with really happened to him. However, Bryce isn’t budging. Instead, Bryce claims he will donate money to a charity in their names. Jenn isn’t happy with Bryce on this, saying he now sounds like Uncle Daddy.

She then tells Bryce that he can leave the clinic for good and she can go work with Desna at the new salon, which will pay more.

Bryce replies, “I don’t know if you noticed or not, but I’m really good at the Pill game.”

Jenn pleads with Bryce, saying it was only supposed to be temporary. However, Bryce really seems into running the clinic and nothing seems like it coud change that for him.

Before they walk, Bryce tells Jenn she sounds like a broken record and he’s tired of hearing it.

Bryce and Roller clash as Uncle Daddy goes against Roller’s wishes.

Later on, Bryce and Roller end up fighting at She She’s. This happens after Roller gets a text message from the Russians demanding their $150,000. Roller presses Bryce and Uncle Daddy about running the clinic. As Bryce and Roller squabble on the club floor, Uncle Daddy breaks them up. He tells them both that Bryce is running the clinic and Roller will run the MRI truck.

After the fight, Bryce, out of frustration ends up snorting another bump of coke.

Ann learns that her Detective Girlfriend is on the case of the Coombs’ killers.

Ann is talking to her current girl Arlene. As they are taking, Ann helps her solve a crossword puzzle. She tells her that Chip may be involved with the killing of the Coombses. This worries Ann, who tells her that she should not get involved.

“Let it go, you don’t want to be involved in anything the Husslers are involved in. Trust me.” – Ann

However, Arlene scoffs at this notion.

Riva arrives and spills the beans on her arrangement with Roller.

At the salon, a Russian woman walks in with two men. Desna calls her Riva. Riva says they were interfering with her check cashing place. Riva calls this, “Bullshit.” Desna admits she tried to kill Roller. Riva says she is impressed. Interestingly enough, Reva says Roller worked for them.

“Roller was working for us. Turns out blood is not thicker than water.” -Riva

Roller reveals he never forgot about who really tried to kill him.

At the dock by Roller’s house, Ann’s girl is investigating. She stumbles and finds a bloody nail.

Riva hops in her car back at the salon on the phone, telling someone they need to handle Roller immediately.

Desna calls Roller, telling him they need to meet. They end up meeting at the West Marina, in an effort to keep herself safe.  However, this doesn’t work as Roller ends up kidnapping Desna at gunpoint.

“Get in the car b***h.” – Roller

  1. Roller and Desna are so hot together. I enjoy watching their cat and mouse game. Who is playing who? Are they playing themselves?
