Amid NFL Players Being Forced to Stand for the Anthem, Diddy Calls for a New Football League
There’s been a lot of tension when it comes to the NFL as of late.
Some players are still refusing to stand for the National Anthem, and Donald Trump has decided to go after the league to force all players to stand.
The movement of kneeling during the anthem to highlight police brutality began with Colin Kaepernick, and now that no team will hire him, other players have kept it going, much to the frustration of Trump and his supporters.
Recently, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said that he would bench any player on his team who refuses to stand for the anthem.
A couple of other teams are following in his footsteps, and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is now calling for all players to stand.
However, the labor organization for the players, NFLPA, has already declared they are willing to fight for the constitutional rights of every player.
This has caused quite the debate on social media, with many BLM supporters calling for a boycott of the sport.
However, Diddy feels like it’s time for a new football league, one that won’t punish players for expressing their beliefs (read tweets from bottom to top):
