‘Black Ink Crew Chicago’ Recap: Don Gets Bad News + Kat Hooks up with Lily

After Ryan storms out the shop, Kat defends her choice of confronting him.

Ryan leaves the shop after Kat puts him on blast in front of the rest of the group, and she claims she only did so because she was looking for a resolution.

In a green screen interview, Kat says she’s over the shop and she just wants to wash her hands of the situation.

Van feels she shouldn’t have to leave.

“Ain’t no way in the world you should have to go somewhere because motherf*ckers slanging d*ck or eating p*ssy.” – Van

Van says he’s not about to let Ryan bully Kat out of the shop.

Nikki proposes a lingerie themed housewarming party.

Phor says he still has kids on the brain, and he still wants to have a baby despite the fact that Nikki told him she’s not ready.

Nikki comes downstairs and catches him looking at a baby app.

“I thought we had this talk. No babies. Get off that app.” – Nikki

She tells Phor they should have a lingerie house warming party. Phor reluctantly agrees to it.

Don clashes with his baby mama, Whitney.

Don goes to pick up his daughter, but his baby mama Whitney gets angry when her friends alert her to the fact that Don has a new Benz truck.

She wonders how he can afford it because she doesn’t feel like he’s doing enough for their daughter financially.

After Don tells her he’s there to pick up their daughter, Whitney tells him that he won’t be able to.

He questions why she had a change of heart.

“Your consistency is terrible when it comes to Kinleigh.” – Whitney

Don tells her he’s always been consistent and Whitney says he doesn’t tell her enough how good of a job she’s doing as a single mother.

This angers Don because he says he’s always giving her props.

Whitney then points out that she thinks it’s messed up that he could afford to buy a new car when he wouldn’t help her out financially when she asked for it.

“Okay, there we go. So now we have it. It ain’t about me being inconsistent. This is about Whitney being mad because I got a new car.” – Don

After their arguing upsets their daughter, he decides to leave to prevent things from getting out of hand.

Kat returns to the shop.

Van called her to come in and do a tat.

One of the clients coming in is Trayvon Martin’s father, and Van is doing his tat.

Kat will be doing the tattoo of another father who also lost his son.

“I’m humbled to get these strong fathers to get tattoos done by us.” – Van

Trayvon’s father gets Trayvon as an Egyptian king.

The other father gets a tre symbol going across his heart.

Both fathers are happy with their tattoos and thank Kat and Van for their work.

Don updates Ashley on his confrontation with Whitney.

He tells Ashley he’s thinking about going back to court to have the court decide the visitation schedule.

Ashley tells him that she doesn’t think that is a good idea.

Don is shocked by this.

“I know how I’d feel if I were in her shoes.” – Ashley

She says she doesn’t want to fight with Whitney and she respects her as the mother of Don’s daughter.

In a green screen interview, Don says that this isn’t the Ashley that he knows.

She urges him to hear Whitney out and avoid court.

Neek disappoints Charmaine.

He tells her that he accepted a new engineering project but it will require him to leave Chicago for a while.

In fact, the project is in Africa and it will be longterm.

“I’ll be gone for about six months.” – Neek

Charmaine tells him that she would not have made a decision like that without talking to him first but Neek says that he’s not about to stay in Chicago when he can go “get that bread.”

She thinks Neek is being a hypocrite because he just got on her for working too much two weeks ago.

“You really have to chill and relax and stop thinking about yourself.” – Neek

The ladies prepare for Nikki and Phor’s lingerie housewarming party.

They all shop for outfits and Nikki even invites Kat to come along.

Lily pulls up in JR’s car. This throws everyone off since it was thought that JR and Lily were done fooling around.

“It’s just a f*cking car, man.” – Lily

After everyone tries on their outfits, Lily takes notice of Kat and says that she’s attracted to her in a green screen interview.

Ryan returns to the shop and almost comes to blows with Van.

After Ryan got put on blast by Kat the other day in the shop, he returns on another day to confront the rest for the group.

“What was Kat doing in the shop? She ain’t working here.” – Ryan

Charmaine and Danielle start arguing with Ryan and tell him it’s unfair that Kat isn’t allowed in the shop.

Ryan feels like it should be understood that Kat can’t be around anymore out of respect for his relationship with Rachel.

Van says Kat will always be allowed back in the shop and this frustrates Ryan who reminds everyone that 9Mag is his shop.

Ryan and Van almost come to blows and Don and the others restrain them.

Charmaine has Danielle and Kat meet her at a jewelry shop.

She’s looking for a ring for Neek so she can propose.

She’s hoping it will keep him in Chicago but Danielle and Kat think she’s out her mind.

Kat and Lily hook up.

Lily has another tense moment with JR. After he jokingly talks about her outfit, she’s cold towards him and JR is fed up with how she treats him.

“Man, f*ck this. I ain’t gonna listen to you. I’m out.” – JR

Charmaine tells all partiers that she has an announcement and proposes to Neek.

Neek tells her to get off her knees and that it’s just not a good time for them to get engaged. Kat and Danielle decide to save Chamrina from further embarrassment and tell Neek and everyone else at the party that Charmaine was just joking.

Later on at the party, Kat and Lily get drunk and start making out. Lily proposes they leave and go to her place. Kat agrees as Don, Phor and Van look on.

“Everybody loves Kat.” – Van

“Everybody motherf*cking loves Kat.” – Don

Whitney makes things right, Don gets some bad news.

Whitney pulls up to Don’s home and drops of Kinleigh.

She leaves her for the weekend and apologizes for going off on him the other day. Don is happy about this and Ashley says she’s happy that they were able to work things out.

“That’s positive.” – Ashley

Not too long after, Don gets a phone call and he is informed that his sister committed suicide by drowning herself in the Chicago River.

Don breaks down in tears, and Ashley and Phor console him.

“I got you forever, bro.” – Phor
