‘Married to Medicine’ Recap: Quad and Gregory Clash + Toya & Heavenly Make Peace

Dr. Jackie is working a lot more to take her mind off Curtis’ affair.

“As much as I want to be sad, my coping technique is to just take myself out of the space and do something for someone else.” – Dr. Jackie

One of her patients checks on her and asks her how she’s been handling the affair.

This annoys Jackie, but she keeps it professional and tells her she appreciates her for caring about her situation. Although she doesn’t like that her pain is so public, she understands that people mean well.

Eugene and Toya go on a date.

They feel like the lack of dates isn’t good for their marriage.

So they have a picnic.

“This was a good idea…coming out to the park.” – Eugene

They discuss the fact that Eugene likes to please himself down in the basement. Even though he says he thinks of Toya while he does it, he admits that he does sometime visualize other women, but he clarifies that it’s not any of his exes.

She tells him that she’s still dealing with some issues regarding her father’s infidelity but Eugene makes it clear to her that he’s nothing like her father.

Quad and Gregory clash.

Gregory comes in from work while Quad is cooking a meal.

She’s working on her cookbook and wants Dr. G to do a taste test so she can know what to include in the book.

He tells her he likes the meal.

They also catch up over Dr. Jackie’s situation and Quad once again reiterates that cheating is never acceptable.

She doesn’t like the fact that it appears as if Greggory feels like what Curtis did is justified.

Quad tells him that if he cheats on her, she’s leaving him.

“Was Curtis starting a relationship or was he fooling around with some chick to clear his head?” – Gregory

Quad gets angry after Greg says that Curtis was probably just lonely and probably had a good reason to cheat.

“The Bible says that a woman is never supposed to refuse her man.” – Gregory

Gregory says he knows cheating is wrong but there’s an exception to every rule. He says Curtis was unhappy and that’s why he cheated.

Quad gets frustrated and decides to walk away from the dinner table.

In a green screen interview, she says she doesn’t feel like Gregory understands sometimes what it takes to keep a marriage healthy.

He follows her and she tells him that she doesn’t feel like he appreciates her. He says he does appreciate her.

He then says he works hard to pay all the bills, and Quad reminds him that she pays her car note. She also offered to pay the mortgage but he refused.

“You play the money card to put me in my place.” – Quad

They start screaming

“I’ve been taking care of you since they day I met you!” – Gregory

“I take care of me!” – Quad

Gregory gets angry and says he really understands why Curtis cheated because Quad disrespects him and doesn’t appreciate all he does for her.

He storms out the house and drives off.

Dr. Simone and Cecil try to talk it out again.

She tells him that everyone thinks he’s a wonderful guy but there’s a side of him that people don’t get to see.

“You save that side, the nasty side just for me. You’re almost like a politician.” – Simone

She says he doesn’t own his part in their issues and Cecil says he feels the same way about her.

Simone says that he needs to be more genuine and Cecil finds this hypocritical.

“Why should I be doing the sh*t you don’t do?” – Cecil

He then says that their real issue is they are growing apart and they aren’t spending enough time together.

Simone disagrees and he brings up the fact that her work schedule makes it hard for them to connect.

“We’re not spending time together. We’re not going to sugar coat this sh*t.” – Cecil

They start arguing over this and Simone says she feels like Cecil doesn’t pay attention to her anyway and prefers to watch TV.

“So it’s on me, then?” – Cecil

“Everything’s not on you.” – Simone

She gets up and walks away because she feels like Cecil won’t take any responsibility for anything that he does.

Simone proposes a trip to New Orleans.

Dr. Jackie and Dr. Simone meet up for lunch.

They discuss the drama that went down between Dr. Heavenly and Toya.

Jackie says Curtis wants to come back to the house and talk. He’s been gone from the house for six weeks.

Simone says that all the ladies need to take a trip together and the location is New Orleans.

Everyone will be invited and it’s for everyone to relax and get time away from their husbands.

Jackie agrees to going on the trip but worries that the group will have major drama in the southern city.

“The crime rate just went up.” – Dr. Jackie

Dr. Heavenly is in her closet looking for outfits to wear on the trip.

She tells her daughter about her arguments with Contessa and Toya.

She’s concerned that her friendship with Toya may have been damaged. Her daughter advises her to apologize when she sees Toya.

“Yeah, I’ma have to pray on that.” – Heavenly

Contessa is also preparing for the trip and she tells her nanny Renee about her confrontation with Heavenly.

“I think now everything got hashed out and now everyone is cool.” – Contessa

Renee questions if Contessa is sure about this but Contessa says she feels good about it.

“I think we got on the wrong foot.” – Contessa

She is hopeful that everyone can get a fresh start.

Renee says she’s just hoping none of the other women bring out her “Dr. Gangsta B*tch” side.

Cecil and Simone run into each other at the second house.

She tells him she’s preparing for a girl’s trip to New Orleans.

“You can’t go to New Orleans without letting a brother know.” – Cecil

“When you’re planning your golf trips, I have to hear it from the grapevine.” – Simone

He tells her he doesn’t think it’s a good time for her to go out of town since their marriage is strained.

But Simone thinks some time away will be good for them both.

The ladies arrive to New Orleans.

Simone says she’s excited to bring Black Girls Magic to New Orleans.

Simone asks everyone to say out loud what they need to work on, but Quad comes up short.

“I don’t know.” – Quad

In a green screen interview, Toya says that Quad doesn’t think she has any flaws.

“Your flaw is you think you don’t have any.” – Toya

They arrive to the hotel to check out their rooms.

The suites are very impressive.

“I love the decor. It puts me at a sense of peace and tranquility.” – Quad

The ladies have a bit of a pause after they see that one of the suites is named Lucifer.

“There ain’t any other rooms?” – Heavenly

They discover a stripper pole in one of the suites, and Toya jumps on it and hangs from it. This shocks the rest of the ladies.

Contessa finally arrives and is quickly greeted by the others except Dr. Heavenly. She throws some shade in a green screen interview.

“Y’all just inviting any and everybody? She is not part of the Fab Five. This is not an elite group anymore.” – Heavenly

She’s not thrilled to learn that Contessa will be her suite mate.

“Hey Roomie!” – Contessa

Dr. Heavenly and Toya make peace.

While out for drinks, Toya asks what’s the difference between Eugene pleasing himself and Curtis cheating.

Jackie says the difference is there isn’t another person involved. Plus, what Eugene is doing doesn’t pose a threat to her health.

After Quad decides not to answer how often she sleeps with Eugene, this annoys Toya because she feels like everyone should be more open about their marriages.

The conversation then turns into Heavenly and Toya’s clash at Jackie’s event over Contessa.

“You started it off by calling me messy.” – Toya

“You are messy.” – Heavenly

Heavenly says she thought Toya was being messy but later figured out that Toya was just trying to let Contessa know that Heavenly is cool.

Heavenly apologizes and Toya forgives her.

  1. Dr. G, WOW!! I got the impression that he already has a side piece. Although I find Quad to be way too dramatic, I agree with her stance on no cheating. I wonder how they will treat Mariah next week, the preview looked as though they gave her a cold welcome.
