Many people have had quite a few things to say about Mo’Nique’s call to boycott Netflix for pay inequality. When Mo’Nique first called for the boycott earlier this weekend, many questioned her motives and her stature in Hollywood.

However, there were other African-Americans in Hollywood that lent their support over to her cause. This includes fellow comedian Wanda Sykes, who revealed she was offered much less than what Mo’Nique was offered for a comedy special on Netflix.

Interestingly enough, DeRay Davis, who has his own comedy special on Netflix, bragged about the check he received from Netflix.

  1. I’m not surprised that a black male comedian sees no issue in any of this. S-xism in our community needs to be addressed way more.

  2. Who? Now they said Monique got that low amount because she’s not popular but I don’t even know who this dude is. How did he get $5 million?

  3. That was very tasteless from Deray. I will be honest when Monique first came with this rant I definitely thought Netflix lowballed her but I felt like of course they going to offer Chapel,Rock, Shumer unfunny a-s more money they can recoup that. But Netflix gave Deray 5 million really gtfoh what the hell has Deray done to deserve 5 million and Monique just 500k. I swear I ain’t trying to be shady only thing I’ve ever seen Deray be in is sitcoms, or in low budget films. I ain’t never heard nobody say oh Deray in town doing a comedy show lets go. Man somebody educate me is he really a hot comedian like that now to command that much maybe I’m just getting older or ain’t intuned with what’s going on. I tell you what Monique case getting stronger everyday.

  4. I hate to say it but Monque will not win this fight. Black people are not here for her. She lost a good bit of us when she came for Oprah and then said she was in an open marriage. Even though she’s right about being pad unfairly, nothing will change because black people do not like her. This would have to happen to Tiffany Haddish for black people to care. And as soon as Tiffany is no longer an under dog and gets way too many wins, black people will turn on her too that moment she shows her imperfections. It’s like clockwork. Only black men get second chances at this fame thing.
