‘Black Ink Crew Chicago’ Star Charmaine Puts Ryan Henry on Blast? (UPDATE)

Kat was really excited last week about her new Beverly Hills tattoo shop opening soon.

She posted a photo of her signing her shop lease.

She then posted the following caption:

Imagine you get “BANNED” from #9Mag and then…BOOM!!! You open up your own tattoo shop in Beverly Hills!!! The best possible way to end INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY!!!! #KatTat

Fans of the show quickly began to call out Kat on her post. They brought up how she was banned from 9Mag, and how she struggled to pay rent in LA previously.

Charmaine wasn’t having it. She defended her friend and “Black Ink Crew Chicago” cast member. And in doing so, she claimed that Ryan doesn’t own the 9Mag shop where the show is filmed.

According the Charmaine, the production company Big Fish Productions rents out the space just for filming.

UPDATE:

Moments after the story posted, a source exclusively provided Urban Belle with the paperwork of the ownership of 9Mag. The paperwork states Ryan is the sole owner and operator of 9Mag, LLC.

The paperwork work also shows the address of 9Mag, which is the location where “Black Ink Chicago” currently films.

  1. I thought Kat got her own shop last season in LA? Seems like Ryan isn’t the only one faking for the cameras.

    1. Yes she was Eddy Curry’s Mistress and Barely got her settlement for child support. She didn’t have any money. And just because an LLC is listed at an address doesn’t mean the LLC hold the lease to the building/equipment and income from the building. Basically Issa fraud and the production company owns the building or leases it.

  2. Does she not know how terrible this makes the whole show look? When reality shows stop seeming authentic, people stop watching. It’s the same reason Mona’s shows aren’t getting the numbers they used to. Especially when there are more authentic reality shows to watch like Married To Medicine. Charmaine should have kept this information to herself if it is true.

  3. So this sh-t is fake just like the New York one. Why even watch if you don’t know what’s real anymore?

  4. Nope. I think she’s lying. I mean it says that Ryan is the shop owner on the damn shop’s website. Shut up Charmaine! This is why she annoys me so much. She is always running her big mouth to defend Kat when Kt should be more professional and stop smashing everyone she works with!

    1. just because an LLC is listed at an address doesn’t mean the LLC hold the lease to the building/equipment and income from the building. Basically Issa fraud and the production company owns the building or leases it. I have a corp is LA with my Texas address from an office that I share space in. Ryan would be at liability if he ACTUALLY owned the shop. Look at the lawsuit from Black Ink NY or even go to any of the shops when they’re not filming? None of them are in there

      1. Umm he doesn’t have to own the building to own the business. Many business owners lease. From major law firms to architect millionaires. Not everyone buys their office. If he doesn’t own the building, if he decided to move to another office, 9 Mag is moving. He owns it. I don’t know why Ryan has to jump through hoops about something he actually owns. No one tells rich business men they don’t own their business just because they lease an office. That doesn’t make any sense. But if that’s how you feel, I guess you’re saying Kat doesn’t own her shop ether. She couldn’t even pay rent last season.

Also, that shop is a real tattoo shop. A simple search shows that real people go there everyday for appointments, and someone on Yelp had a tattoo done by Ryan last November. The shop was also running before the show itself was in existence. So yes, I believe Ryan and I think Charmaine isn’t telling the truth.

      3. Who is this Rachael slow was no Ryan a-s shudve owned his sh-t he the boss he and u r a mess

  5. Well that makes her and all of them look stupid like y’all all faking for reality. Also I’m so tired of them caping so hard for Kat I’m not taking up for Ryan because he ain’t sh-t but Kat is not innocent.

  6. There are receipts all over the internet that Ryan owns 9Mag. Is it possible production has a location they own just for filming? Of course. But for Charmaine to flat out lie and say Katrina is now the ONLY ONE who actually owns a shop is a damn lie. That’s why I don’t really like Katrina or Charmaine. They lie a lot. And they lie for storylines.

  7. I don’t know about this because it’s at the point now that most of them will say anything to make Ryan look bad. I do believe he owns 9 Mag. The thing I don’t get is the anger Van and Charmaine have. The situation has nothing to do with them. And Ryan was wrong to mess around with Kat but he did still try to coexist at first up until Kat confronted Rachel about everything. How can she expect to still be able to work at the same shop after that?

  8. If Charmaine doesn’t have a stadium of seats. Ryan owns his damn shop. Now she would know that if she was really friends with him in real life. I honestly think she was just hired as an actress to create drama on the show because she can’t even tattoo. She’s so damn extra.

  9. Ryan does NOT own the shop an LLC is allowed to be listed at any address that technically not theirs. This SOS Listing Means Nothing. The deed, lease, and taxes would actually prove something

  10. Business owners don’t have to own the building they work in. That’s nonsense. Leasing is a real thing. I’ve seen small and major corporations lease office buildings. That’s not “proof” that Ryan does not own 9 Mag. Also, Charmaine said the building is just used for filming but that tattoo shop was there before the show was in existence. Real people also go there to get tattoos done by some of the cast, including Don, Phor, Van and Ryan. Van, Phor, Don and Ryan actually work at that shop. That has been well documented.

  11. *rolls eyes* Ryan obviously doesn’t own the building that the shop is in. The shop itself is owned by a real estate company located in Chicago and they lease out those units to multiple businesses and even have an event space. The production company does not own the shop. Ryan leases the building like a lot of business owners. That’s not scandalous. Basically him and Cease do the same thing. They lease a shop and employ other artists. Cease doesn’t own any of the buildings his shops are located either. But he still makes money off them after he pays the rent every month. Those are still his shops even though he leases them. To say otherwise is like telling a hair salon owner that it’s not her shop because she has a landlord. If you live in a major city you know a lot of business owners lease/rent. It’s more cost effective. Maybe someone explained that to Charmaine because she deleted those comments.

  12. I thought he had admitted in the past that he didn’t own it one of those times he got upset and was claiming to be walking away from the shop? This is why I can’t watch this stuff. So fake.

  13. True or not, some things you keep to yourself. Especially when you’re making money from the situation. Like someone already said, no one wants to watch a scripted reality show. Especially when there are much better scripted shows out here.

  14. I think people are trying to call everything fake because of what Dutchess said. While some elements are the show are fake, 9 Mag is an actual shop and Ryan owns it. Renting the building doesn’t really change that. That’s not to say that some things haven’t been exaggerated for drama reasons.
