Ciara Talks Marrying Future & Overcoming Career Struggles

Ciara’s romance with rapper Future is surely taking off and even though the couple recently got called out due to Future missing a scheduled club appearance because he had a disagreement with the singer, it’s clear that they aren’t going to let the recent mishap put a damper on their relationship. Ciara is in full press mode as she has new studio album dropping in July, so she stopped by The Wendy Williams show this morning and talked a little about her new music, her past career struggles, why she’s over talking about Rihanna, and her confidence that things with Future will only get better with time. Here are the best quotes and highlights from the interview.

When asked why she thinks her last couple of albums didn’t do well, Ciara tells Wendy:

“When I look at people that I really admire and respect, it’s a journey. It’s not about the short term of it all. Everyone is going to hit a few bumps in the road. You’re gonna get punched a few times. You’re gonna fall. But most importantly, it’s about getting back up. And for me, I went through a phase where as I was just trying different things in life. Whether it was meeting people, meeting new friends…just really like trying different things. Whether it is hanging out, or whatever it may be. I think that’s what you have to do in life. You gotta try things to figure out what works for you or if it doesn’t.”

When asked about her “feud” with Rihanna, Ciara made it clear that she only talks about Rihanna because she’s asked and she’s frankly done talking about her:

“I’ve said all I need to say about her. I’m totally in a different space. It’s all positivity and love from my perspective and how I get down. I wish her well.”

Wendy kept it all the way real and asked Ciara if she was engaged considering she does have a “N” tattooed on her ring finger (Future’s first name is Nayvadius), and Ciara blushed and said “I don’t know.” The talk show host told her it would be terrible if things didn’t work out and she’d be forced to wear the tattoo anyway. Ciara responded and gave those feeling as if she’s moving too fast with Future something to think about:

“This is what I feel. This is the place I’m in. I’ve always been so reserved and to myself or more private and kind of like halfway about something when I speak about a relationship. And in this day of my life, I’m so comfortable in my skin and I feel so good about where I am. And I’m very confident and comfortable with the way he loves me. So I say that to say that, I’m gonna put in the universe positive things. I’m gonna put in the universe that’s it’s only going to get better, better and better.”

Are Ciara and Future engaged? It’s pretty clear that Ciara has found happiness in her current romance with rapper Future, but loyal fans of the R&B singer have already started to question if her romance has taken priority over her music these days. But it now appears that Future’s fans may now be able to ask the same question, and even more so, those that book him for appearances at their nightclubs. It’s being reported that Future did not show up to an appearance at Pulse, a Las Vegas nightclub, because he got into an argument with Ciara, and the club owners are furious that he was a no-show considering they paid him to attend. Apparently the club owner and booking manager for Pulse called into The Breakfast Club the other day to spill the tea and they also slipped up and said the lovebirds are engaged. Here’s the scoop from Mstarz:

This is how it all went down, allegedly Future and Ciara were beefing as their was some dispute about how they were getting to the event and what cars Ci Ci and Future would ride in. The company tried to appease the fickle celebs with a stretch limo and town car; however, they were not to their liking. Finally the club arranged for four SVU’s to retrieve Ciara, Future, and their entourage to shuttle them to the scheduled event, but the couple decided that they were going to skip it and dine at a nearby steakhouse.

After that last act of disrespect, the club kicked Ciara and Future out of the rooms they booked for them on account that Future was scheduled to appear at the club. Getting kicked out of the hotel was obviously not part of Rocko, Future’s manager’s plans. He called into New York’s Power 105.1 to vent about the issue as he blamed Ciara.

“I don’t give a d*mn about Ciara. I didn’t book Ciara,” Cliff Dutton, Pusle club Promoter told The Breakfast Club.

The owner of Pulse, Kiki, is the one that said Ciara and Future are engaged:

“I know he got engaged and he’s in love and all that, but when you gotta work, man up and get to work Future. You had a commitment to us. We had to call out 30 Metro officers to secure our building when we announced that he wasn’t going to show up.”

Apparently Future was paid $46,000 to make the appearance and the club owner says she plans on filing a lawsuit to retrieve the money paid to the rapper.

Ciara is back with new music as so far her single ‘Body Party’ is performing rather well on the charts. And the singer is on a mission to get her music career going strong again as she has made some changes to her upcoming album that has gotten great reviews so far prior to it being officially released. Ciara’s music career is on the up and up these days and so is her love life as CiCi has started up a relationship with Rapper Future. Though their relationship is still a rather fresh one, Ciara and Future have gushed about each other on many occasions in interviews and seem to be really feeling each other. It’s obvious that things are going well between Ciara and Future from what we can tell, but supposedly the latest gossip bit on these two suggests that their relationship involves more than just them.

Ciara and Future were spotted in pictures together inside the King of Diamonds club earlier this week. And a story from MediaTakeOut suggested that Ciara and Future did more than make it rain on the adult dancers at the club as the website claimed that Ciara and Future took one of the dancers back home with them to engage in group activity in the bedroom, leading people to question if Ciara and Future have some sort of open relationship going on.

A source who is said to be employed by the club tells HipHollywood though that no dancer left the club with Ciara and Future but they did spend money while inside the club, Future dropping around $16,000 on the dancers, not the $55,000 that MTO reported.

HipHollywood’s source must be on it as Ciara took to her Twitter account and says to kill that talk about her having a ‘minaj’ because she is not even one for sharing her man with another woman:

Ciara’s ‘Body Party’ single looks to be putting her right back on the map as the singer is getting ready to drop another studio album titled Ciara this upcoming July. After going through some tough times with her music career and dealing with the ongoing “beef” with Rihanna that she says she is over, Ciara made it clear that she had no plans of throwing in the towel on her career and was working very hard on her new album that was originally titled One Woman Army. Despite the album release date being pushed back and it undergoing a name change, the thought of a new Ciara album has gotten her avid fans known as the C-Squad excited about the comeback that she is on the verge of making. And though it hasn’t dropped yet, Ciara’s new album has been getting excellent reviews from those who have taken a listen to it. And her ‘Body Party’ single, that she also released a video for, continues to dominate on the charts and remains in heavy rotation on radio stations all over.

Not only does ‘Body Party’ continue to slay on iTunes, it is seeing the same success on the Billboard charts as well as ‘Body Party’ landed in the Top 40, taking the #35 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week. And to top it all off, the song has become the singer’s biggest solo hit since ‘Ride’ back in 2010, which took on the #42 spot on the mainstream chart. Ciara’s music career isn’t the only thing that is looking quite bright for the singer nowadays as her public romance with Rapper Future seems to be keeping her a very happy woman as Ciara says she is very appreciative of how open Future is about their relationship and how supportive he is of her career.

Ciara might have a new album dropping soon and may be doing exceptional on iTunes these days, but when people aren’t talking about her “beef” with Rihanna, they are talking about her cutesy romance with rapper Future. It’s pretty evident that she is truly happy in her relationship with Future, but even though she’s moved on with the up and coming rapper, many still wonder why she could never manage to get 50 Cent to claim her and talk highly of her in his interviews like Future does regularly. Ciara suggested sometime last year that she thinks 50 was afraid to love her, but she opened up in her recent interview with MTV News and admits she’s glad she has landed a man who has no problem acknowledging her. And now when she looks back on things, she feels a secretive romance isn’t the best situation for her like she thought it was at the time. Ciara says:

You know what it is…let me just say this. I’ve had my experiences over the years and I’ve been able to learn a lot. When you do step outside, you put yourself in a position to where as people are going to be able to judge, they can criticize, they can give their opinion. And that’s always something I used to always fear. I’m kind of in a place where I’m facing my fears. I’m running towards my fears. I’m running towards the things that make me uncomfortable because I feel like if I live my life based off of those things, I won’t live my life how I’m supposed to. I won’t live my life to the fullest. And I feel like you have to really live your life for you. That’s where I am at this day and time in my life. And I’m also with someone who makes me feel extremely comfortable to be that way which is really important.

“And the way that he makes me feel is just like, ‘Why not?’ If you love somebody, you should express it. And now I understand that like before I used to think…I’m thinking I’m trying to protect it but realizing I’m really only making it more complicated or I’m really only harming the situation, so there’s nothing sexy about hiding your love. There’s nothing sexy about people not acknowledging each other. It’s a lot of stuff I’ve learned. And it feels so good to free in that.”

R&B singer Ciara is all set to drop her upcoming album Ciara this July, and with her current single “Body Party” and album presales impressively selling on iTunes, it appears she may be posed to make a comeback to the music scene. Ciara also recently spoke on her new album and says she feels it’s one of her most personal albums, and she credits her boyfriend Future for helping bringing out her more aggressive side. After so many last-minute changes we made to the album which was formerly named One Woman Army including the removal of two of her previous singles that just didn’t take off, only time will tell if Ciara made the right decision. But judging by her fans’ response to the new music so far, her future looks pretty promising.

The listening party for Ciara’s next album went down the other day and those in attendance are giving her new music rave reviews. Idolator writes:

So last night we went to a recording studio in New York to hang out with multi-platinum recording artist/Very Turnt Up Person Ciara and a few other journalists and some people from her label and her boyfriend Future (who is both better dressed and cooler than any of us could ever aspire to be) while taking a first listen to her fifth studio album, Ciara. And good news: It’s good! In fact, it’s great. It might be our favorite Ciara album to date.

That’s a relief, because it’s no secret that this album era hasn’t exactly gone off without a hitch — after being mismanaged by Jive and moving over to new label Epic, Ciara dropped a string of singles which failed to make much of an impact (“Sweat,” “Sorry,” “Got Me Good” — none of which are making the album, which is probably a blessing) before finally hitting exactly the right vibe with the ingeniously sultry, seductive “Body Party,” arguably her best slow burner since “Promise.” It’s been pretty much universally critically adored (is there anyone who isn’t having a #BodyParty these days?) and it’s produced one of the best videos of her career — and largely, that ambition is carried throughout Ciara.

Ciara is back to making music and making moves in the R&B game, but her beef with Rihanna is still making headlines just as much as her new music. While Ciara made it clear in her last interview that she’s over talking about her issues with Rihanna, it hasn’t managed to slow down the stan war between The Navy and the C-Squad any. In fact, it just seems like the fans are getting nastier and colder as each day passes. But it’s obvious that Ciara’s fan base is very enthusiastic about her new music as her new music video for her current single “Body Party” has been well received by most. However, Rihanna still seems to have words for Ciara and is questioning why she’s still talking about her in her interviews. When one of her fans brought it to her attention that Ciara said more in her interview about the beef, Rihanna flat out bashed her for still entertaining the situation and said she’s clearly more relevant than Ciara’s new music:

Interestingly enough, Rihanna may be wrong about Ciara’s new music. Despite being asked about Rihanna in her recent interviews, Ciara is performing well already on iTunes. Her current single “Body Party” is currently number two on the top R&B songs chart, and her album is currently number 6 on the top R&B albums. Ciara’s album doesn’t even come out until July, but it is selling well with presales alone. We know many have written Ciara off, but it looks like they shouldn’t have. By the looks of her iTunes sales, she’ll chart well on Billboard in no time. And check out Fantasia slaying on iTunes as well. Congrats to both ladies.

R&B singer Ciara is all set to drop her upcoming album Ciara in July, and with her current single “Body Party” making moves on the charts and doing well on iTunes, she went ahead and released the music video. The music video stars Ciara and her current boyfriend Future, and the couple had plenty of steamy scenes together. She opted to premiere the video on BET’s 106 & Park, however, many thought that would be pretty awkward for her considering that she used to date Bow Wow, and the rapper is now one of the hosts of the show.

Bow Wow has already said in interviews that he always felt he could be cordial and professional if Ciara ever made her way back to the show. And that’s because he feels he’s over the situation. He says:

“I’ma just do what I do. I mean, I’ma be Bow. You know what I’m saying?”

Well, he got his chance to prove himself when Ciara made an appearance on the show Monday and to make things even more interesting, her boyfriend Future was in attendance. He gave Bow Wow some interesting looks during the show, and it was a little awkward for everyone when they went through her Instagram photos and posted a photo of Ciara and Future spending time together on the monitor. Bow Wow attempted to show no kind of awkwardness, but it was still a pretty awkward moment.

Bow Wow later took to his Facebook page to let fans know that he wasn’t fazed by Ciara’s appearance and said it wasn’t any different than any other day:

R&B singer Ciara is back on the music scene and she’s all set to drop her next studio album this summer. Although the singer originally had plans of releasing an album entitled One Woman Army, she scrapped those plans and confirmed last week that her new album has instead been named Ciara. With a new album title came new album artwork, the scrapping of two singles she’s already released, and a new due date (her album was originally slated to drop in June). However, Ciara is sticking with her current single “Body Party,” and the sexy anthem is already getting lots of radio play, so it makes sense that she dropped the music video for the single while the song has plenty of buzz.

Yesterday, the video premiered on BET’s 106 and Park, as well as YouTube. Ciara’s fans have already expressed that they love the music video, especially since it features Ciara’s current boo thang Future. If you haven’t watched the video yet, here’s a quick summary of the events.

Ciara basically walks up in the party in very cute 90′s inspired attire, drops it low with her girlfriends and then makes eye contact with Future who was there with his friends. After the party, Future then approaches Ciara and tells her he knows she will be his one day, and then the video flashes to a scene of both of the lovebirds in Future’s bedroom. Ciara does a seductive dance than consists of a head stand, and rocks some pretty sexy lingerie in the process.

Through it all, she looked gorgeous, and it looked as if she had plenty of fun making the video.

Notable appearances include Joseline Hernandez, Stevie J., Ludacris, Future, Trinidad James and even her former producer Jazzy Pha.

Ciara Calls Rihanna out for Being Phony, Says She’s over Beef

The Ciara Rihanna beef started up after Ciara made some comments to Joan Rivers on an episode of Fashion Police about how Rihanna was rude to her at a party that they both attended. And Rihanna did what she loves to do most on her social network accounts, she threw much shade at Ciara over her comments, sparking a short-lived Twitter war between the two singers. The two made up afterwards but apparently their make up wasn’t enough to keep Rihanna from going in on Ciara again as Rihanna and her crew clowned Ciara over her bathroom a cappella singing of her single ‘Body Party’ that C-Squad is loving right now as they are anxious to see what CiCi is going to bring with her upcoming album. And it didn’t take long for an all out war to pop off between Rihanna’s best friend and Ciara’s fans.

Ciara had a few words for the shade Rihanna threw at her too and said that she honestly had no idea where it all was coming from as she thought her and Rihanna were cool. Let Rihanna tell it, Ciara is jealous of her and the success that she has had with her career. Despite Rihanna’s disses, Ciara has continued to say positive things about Ri Ri when she is brought up into conversation. In an interview that she did with MTV’s The Week in Jams, Ciara speaks again on the supposed beef that is going on between her and Rihanna and sticks to her claims that she has no clue as to why Rihanna doesn’t care for her:

“I can’t tell you anything. You have to ask her. I mean, she’s so vocal maybe she can say whatever it is. I don’t know.”

And Ciara goes on to say that she had to keep it real when it came to how she felt about what Rihanna did to her and that they ran into each other at an event after the Fashion Police incident and Rihanna acted as if everything was all good between them again:

“But even then, the first time I said something, I just felt I wouldn’t be honest with myself when we were sitting there doing the Fashion Police when I spoke because the way that she made me feel was nuts…Last I saw her, we were at the MET gala, she came over to me and she was like ‘Hey girl, look at you. You look cute girl.’ Blah, Blah, Blah, all these nice things and we were laughing, we hugged. And it was like our way of saying everything is cool without even having to say we’re cool.”

Ciara said though that Ri Ri flipped the script on her when she saw her at a club in L.A. and says at this point, she really doesn’t care about what Rihanna’s problem is with her:

“I don’t know. I saw the girl in the club, we were in L.A. and I saw her and she was weird again. It was the Supper Club. And she was like, I had saw pictures posts and she was like muggin’ and I’m like ‘What’s wrong?’ I don’t know what it is. And at this point, I don’t care. I really don’t care.”

Though Ciara says she could care less about why Rihanna isn’t feeling her, she again gives her best wishes to Rihanna:

“I wish her well. She has a lot of great things going on with her. I mean she’s like rockin’, doing it really, really, really big…We’re women in this. It don’t need to be all that. She’s got too much good going on to even be consumed with that kind of energy so I don’t know. I wish her well.”

And when asked if she thinks the beef has to do with her dancing with Chris Brown during his performance at the 2008 BET Awards, Ciara says:

“Even that day, she and Chris came into my dressing room and they showed love. They were together. She and I hung a few times prior to that like everything was cool. And then I don’t know, some switch, I don’t know.”

As far as an apology or a sit down between her and Rihanna is concerned, Ciara says “never say never” but she isn’t thinking about that at this point.

R&B singer Ciara is set to drop a new album this summer and even though she’s got lots of new music to talk about, lately she’s been making headlines more so for her relationship with Future and beef with Rihanna. Ciara also just confirmed that she has changed the name of her upcoming album from One Woman Army to Ciara, and she’s even decided against putting two of her recent singles “Sorry” and “Got Me Good” on the album. The singer is doing lots of press to promote the album and she recently stopped by Hot 97 to chat it up about her new music, Future, Rihanna. and Beyonce.

On why she decided to go public with her relationship with Future and be more open about the romance, she says:

“I felt comfortable in this situation. I feel like you have to be comfortable because when you do step outside, you put yourself in a situation for everyone to have an opinion.”

On her ongoing beef with Rihanna, Ciara seems to feel that it’s not enough brown girls doing music for them to be beefing with one another. She says:

“I don’t know what she’s on. Whatever she’s on, she can have it. I’m so cool, I’m so in my zone right now. It’s not that many of us doing what we do. It shouldn’t be anything but love. I feel like all of us and what we do is different anyway, so I could’t understand what the need to create drama would be, but I wish her well.”

And when it comes to beefing with brown girls on top of the music game, Ciara seems to think Beyonce should be respected by all of her peers because she works so hard for her success:

“I have a lot of respect for Beyoncé. I think she’s just an amazing performer. She’s a beast. She’s worked hard to be where she is right now and she deserves all the respect.”

Ciara also explains again why she has decided to change the name of her upcoming album:

“As we were moving along, I started to take a different creative turn. I found some new inspiration along the way, so the One Woman Army movement still exists and it’s still a part of who I am because it represents my strength and my struggles and my journey. However, the best way for me to title the record at the time period or at this moment was simply Ciara.”

Rihanna may be having some hiccups during her Diamonds World Tour and even rumored to be pregnant, but her beef with Ciara is keeping her in the headlines just as much as the rumors surrounding what’s really going on in her uterus. Although Rihanna just had to cancel her show in Houston, Texas to due to what her reps say is “an illness,” she’s still found time to add fuel to her feud with Ciara. As we reported recently, Ciara keeps getting asked about the beef in her interviews, and although she’s got a lot to talk about regarding her new album which is set to drop this July, she’s also being pretty honest about how she feels about Rihanna post her making fun of her for singing Body Party a cappella in the bathroom for her fans. And according to Ciara, not only does she not understand what she labels as Rihanna’s “obsession” with her, but she also thinks her rival is nuts for finding so much time to take jabs at her on Twitter and Instagram. She recently told Wild 94.9:

“I don’t have beef with anybody, but I’m not going to be disrespected either. I wish her well. I don’t know what her problem is . I think she’s nuts right now like whatever’s going on because for me it doesn’t make any sense. She has a lot of good things going on with herself. A lot of good things I’ve always said I’ve been happy for her. I don’t get it. I really don’t, but I wish her well. I wish her positivity.”

While many feel the issues started between both after Ciara said on Fashion Police that Rihanna “isn’t the nicest in person,” Rihanna tells her fans on Instagram the beef started because Ciara is jealous of her success:
