Although the latest season of “American Idol” has come to an end and a winner was chosen, there’s still plenty of drama going on concerning the fate of the other three judges (Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, and Keith Urban) considering Randy Jackson announced recently that he would not be returning for another season. Nicki Minaj is reportedly not returning to the show and although the female rapper has not confirmed the reports, many suspect that she won’t return because it won’t be a good look for the show to keep her around. However, many at least thought that she would get on the stage and perform during the finale like her peers Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson did, however, Nicki never took the stage. And according to reports, it’s because the execs at “Idol” didn’t want her to and feel that although she is a good judge, she’s just bad for the show’s brand. The Hollywood Reporter writes:

While all three of the judges — Mariah Carey, Keith Urban, and Randy Jackson — took to the American Idol stage for the Thursday night finale, Nicki Minaj remained a spectator, despite earlier reports that she would perform as well.

In a press conference with reporters, Minaj explained why: “I had already committed to the Billboard Awards for my single ['High School'],” she explained with her signature smirk. “I wasn’t allowed to perform on Idol and Billboard.”

Or could it have been the top brass wanted to sideline the polarizing judge, who many speculate will not return next year? (When asked about judging season 13, Minaj ignored the question.)

“She’s a good judge, but bad for the brand,” said a well-placed source following the finale.

Is Nicki Minaj leaving American Idol? Nicki Minaj’s gig with American Idol has not gone as smoothly as she would have probably imagined it to go as things kicked off with rumors of the outspoken Nicki not seeing eye to eye with other newbie to the panel Mariah Carey, Mariah and Nicki claiming that the beef rumors were ridiculous early on. But viewers quickly saw the love start to be lost between the two after they got into a heated exchange on set. And from that day forward, it was on and popping. The shade throwing and shot firing has since escalated between Nicki and Mariah, though Nicki admitted to being hurt over how things have played out between her and Mariah on the show. And as most TV viewers crave the drama that reality TV shows tend to bring, American Idol viewers haven’t been the least bit entertained by Nicki and Mariah’s beef as the ratings for the show have continued to suffer. And because of the struggle that the show has had this season with ratings, the talk is that ‘Idol’ producers were looking to make some cuts to the judging panel. Randy Jackson has already bid farewell to the show as he recently announced that he was not returning for next season. And now the talk is that Nicki Minaj is the next judge to be making an exit, an insider reveals to Us Weekly:

“It’s safe to say she isn’t coming back to Idol. She’s okay with it. She had a great time but was only going to do one season anyway.”

The source adds that the reason Nicki Minaj plans to move on from her short stint with American Idol is so that she can focus more on her new music, tours and endorsement deals.

Nicki Minaj may have revamped her look and style, but you better believe that the rapper’s urge to speak her mind has gone nowhere at all. From day one of her gig with American Idol, Nicki dealt with rumors about her supposedly beefing with Mariah Carey. And those rumors later gained truth to them as Nicki and Mariah have failed to get long and they don’t pass up chances to shade each other. Though Nicki has taken her shots at Mariah with Mariah returning the favor, Nicki admitted that she  felt betrayed by Mariah as she thought they actually were friends and even said that she looked up to Mariah when she was younger. In an interview that she did with Teen Vogue, Nicki Minaj says that she views the industry as nothing but a huge popularity contest at times and that she is not one for sucking up to people just because they are on top at the moment:

“People treat this business like it’s high school. It can absolutely feel like one big popularity contest, and you know what? I can’t be bothered. I can’t allow myself to play ridiculous games with grown adults in the industry. I can’t be nice to someone just because they’re hot right now. I can’t do it.”

And Nicki credits her attitude to the rough times she faced growing up:

“Every time my parents fought, my mother would have us move and I would have to go to a new school, which meant I’d have to face the task of making new friends. I dreaded it. I had butterflies in my stomach each time: Are people going to like or hate me? … Sometimes there’d be a fight, sometimes not. I let people know I wasn’t going to be pushed around.”

While some celebrities are not open to hear others’ thoughts of them, Nicki says she loves to hear people’s real opinions:

“My journey to who I am today began on MySpace. I love getting real opinions from people.”

And Nicki doesn’t spend her time reading the negative comments that people make about her but chooses to focus more on the positive things. And she says that social media networks can be very toxic, especially for teenagers:

“I used to read the bad things people said about me. Then I asked myself, ‘Why am I reading that when I have millions of people saying great things?’ You cannot give negativity power. I tell teens, if you’re having a problem, there’s nothing wrong with deleting your social media. If people keep taunting you and you keep reading it, it’s poison.”

American Idol is still suffering in ratings and many believe the show is getting demolished by The Voice because people are frankly tired of the petty beef between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey. Interestingly enough, it appears that both stars are a little tired of it too, and recently Mariah’s husband Nick Cannon told the media that she compares her time on “Idol” to being on Love and Hip Hop. It’s also speculated that Mariah’s issues with Nicki were a big factor in her firing Randy Jackson as her manager, and even Randy confirmed yesterday that he’s leaving the show after the current season. With rumors also suggesting all of the judges are expected to be replaced next season, as well as Nicki’s complete fall from grace with the media as a result of her time on the show; one would think she’d regret ever joining the judging panel.

Nicki Minaj revealed in a recent interview with Ryan Secrest of E! News that she is disappointed in how badly things have gotten with Mariah and recalls considering her an idol when she was younger. She also claims she feels betrayed by the singer because she thought they were good friends but now feels she’s fake:

“Imagine someone that you loved your whole life… Imagine you meeting them and then all of a sudden feeling like you did something horrible to them but you just don’t know what you did. That’s what my relationship with Mariah is, and that’s what it’s been from the beginning.

“I just really thought that we were friends, but that’s the other thing I learned that this industry is so fake. You walk away thinking people are your friends and they’re not. It’s a couple nice hi and byes and then really, you better not step on nobody’s toes. And God forbid you get a little shine. And God forbid you’re maybe witty or quick on your toes or make someone laugh. Then maybe you’re making another person feel insecure. And you shouldn’t have to dim your light to let another person shine.”

However, Nicki tells Ryan Seacrest  that she has no regrets and wouldn’t take back the decision she made to do the show. When asked if she would return for another season, she says:

“That’s a million-dollar question [laughs]. have to say this all the time, but I want people to know it’s genuinely from my heart. I love the people on Idol. I genuinely do. If I had to do this all over again, I would have done Idol. Because it’s fun, it’s laughs. It’s kind of sad that what people read all the time is only when something is negative. But they don’t realize that we built a family. I feel happy here and I have to thank them for giving me this chance. They could have picked anyone in the world. And they picked me. So that’s all I’ll say about that.”

Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj’s feuding has created nothing but controversy for American Idol, and it’s even caused Mariah reportedly to rethink doing another season if she gets an invitation to come back. After Nicki Minaj took to her Twitter account to accuse the singer of being insecure and bitter, it’s clear that the two divas may not ever be able to work with each other peacefully. Nick Cannon recently made an appearance on KTLA News and talked about the drama, and confirmed that Mariah Carey is questioning returning if Nicki is invited back. He also said she is comparing her time on “Idol” to being on Love and Hip Hop:

“She comes home and she’s just like she doesn’t have time for it. She’s too busy trying to be the world’s biggest superstar mom. It’s just really one of those things where she didn’t sign up for that. And she’s like, ‘I wish that experience could be about what it’s really supposed to be about.’ Because she really loves the contestants and has a connection with her fellow singers.

“What’s amazing is my wife forseen all this. She tried to tell the network, ‘I don’t think this is going to work. I’m afraid. I don’t need this. I’m doing this for the brand of American Idol. And I love the show. You’re kind of taking it in the wrong direction. This is going to turn into one of those reality shows.’ She’s like, ‘I didn’t sign up to be on Love and Hip Hop.’

“My wife has been trying to take the high road and trying her best not to take it. But it feels like the producers and everyone else want to play into it for soundbites and stuff. And that’s unfortunate.”

Nick confirmed the reports that suggested Mariah is thinking about walking away from the show. When asked if she will come back next season, he says:

“It’s a time when she has so many amazing things going on in her life, if there’s something unstable — I think if they get it stable she might re-look [sic] at it, but no one wants to be a part of something unstable.”

Mariah Carey’s stint on American Idol has been nothing but drama, but the songbird might have reached her breaking point with the feud that is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Last week during a live show, Mariah threw shade to Nicki Minaj that resulted in the female rapper dragging her and accusing her of being old and bitter via her Twitter account. Although rumors suggest both women are questionable for next season, a new report from FOX suggests Mariah is thinking about just walking away from the show all together:

According to a source close to “American Idol,” Carey is so done with her fellow judge’s threats and nastiness she last week threatened not to come to the show this week, despite the show being down to its top three finalists.

“Mariah doesn’t want to come back, Nicki is really disrespecting her and she’s tired of trying to bite her tongue all the time,” an insider told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column. “One night Nicki tried to be kind of nice, but Mariah didn’t bite, so I guess she figured screw that.”

…But we’re told even if Minaj doesn’t return to the panel next season, Carey won’t be back.

“She’s done with it all. She doesn’t need the platform, and all the drama isn’t healthy for her,” added the source. “She’s also under fire with the producers for not being critical enough of the contestants.”

In related and more positive news for Mariah, she released a new single called “Beautiful” which features R&B’s new sensation Miguel. We’re in love with it already, but check it out and let us know what you think below:

Rapper and American Idol judge Nicki Minaj has had a rather interesting time on FOX’s singing competition show, but most of her time on the show has been spent going back and forth with fellow judge Mariah Carey. The two stars have been beefing ever since the beginning of the season, and things got even more explosive between them the other day when Mariah threw the ultimate shade to Nicki on live television about her lack of number one hits on the Billboard 100. The shade led Nicki to take to her Twitter account to slam Mariah and call her insecure and bitter, but it now appears she’s made more enemies thanks to her time on Idol. The other day a reporter from Access Hollywood ripped her to shreds in an article because Nicki reportedly nastily refused to answer her question about the recent Twitter shots she took at Mariah. The reporter, Laura Saltman, writes:

Nicki and Mariah’s not-so-charming banter has included Nicki calling Mariah “sir” two weeks ago after a spat and Wednesday night referring to her as “Honey Boo Boo” as a final slam. For the record, Mariah never heard Nicki’s “sir” comment until after the show aired. When asked about it backstage, she wanted to respond but her publicist smartly told her not too. You see, Mariah is a professional who understands her reputation is everything. She has class. Nicki is another story.

In my 20 years in entertainment news, I have interviewed close to 5,000 celebrities — people who have bigger bragging rights than Nicki. Men and women who have Oscars , Grammys and Emmys. Yet, by far, she is the most ungracious of anyone I have met.

Each week, she comes backstage for interviews and we are told “two questions only” while her people hover over you and even, at times, have their hand on your arm as you end your interview to make you stop. Waiver from the two-question rule and Nicki herself will walk away. She makes zero eye contact and has no connection to whomever is interviewing her. If she likes your question, she may give you a proper answer. If she doesn’t, she may give you a dirty look and walk off. After she posted mean comments about Mariah on Twitter yesterday calling her “bitter” and “insecure,” I wanted to give her the opportunity to redeem herself or perhaps apologize. I phrased my question that her comments had caused quite a stir online and asked if she had anything to say about it. She looked at me and told me my question made no sense and when I tried to explain it further she just said “goodnight” and walked off in a huff.

Nicki Minaj was not amused and took to her Twitter account to drag the reporter. She tweets (read from the bottom up):

Within minutes, the reporter’s mentions were filled with death threats from Nicki’s fans.

Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj may be questionable for returning next season, but their beef is ongoing and seems to have surpassed any beliefs that it was merely a stunt to save ratings (especially since it just made ratings even worse). But things between the two divas got even worse last night when Mariah decided to put Nicki in her place and such a shady way reminded Nicki that she’s never had a number one song on the Billboard Hot 100. In case you missed it, here is the exchange that’s got everyone talking:

Nicki: “You must agree with Nicki?”
Mariah: “So you must think that I agree with Nicki and Keith and Randy and the entire panel.”
Nicki: “Oh, A.K.A. you agree with Nicki … ? Okay honey boo boo. Okay.”
Mariah: “Again, back to the Billboard Hot 100 #1 song which you just performed … which is difficult to get … not everybody has that (waves hands towards Nicki) to their credit … to your credit you did a great job so keep on singing…”

It didn’t take long for Nicki to get on Twitter and take some shots at Mariah’s career, and according to Nicki, Mariah’s just insecure by her because she’s achieved more than her in such a shorter time span. Nicki also possibly confirmed the rumors that suggest Idol producers are calling J-Lo up in hopes to bring her back to replace Mariah (these reports have been denied by producers).

Check out Nicki’s angry tweets that started off with her slamming blogger Perez Hilton for telling her to burn from Mariah’s on-screen shade (read from the bottom up):

Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj’s beef didn’t save American Idol like the producers planned, but the on camera shade these two are constantly throwing each other is still very entertaining. Whether or not the shadefest is enough to secure both spots for another season remains to be seen, but the recent rumors suggest the possibly isn’t too high. Jennifer Lopez is reportedly in talks to get her spot back on the show by sacrificing Mariah, while Nicki’s antics are being labeled as the “sole” cause of the show’s massive drop in ratings. Usher’s appearance on The Voice has helped the show become the lead in the singing competition genre, and Idol producers are wondering who needs to be replaced to make the show more competitive. In the mean time, Nicki and Mariah will continue to take shots at one another’s career to tie fans over until possible changes are made to the panel.

The other night was no different when Nicki and Mariah once again clashed on-screen. When Nicki pointed out that Mariah was agreeing with her during Mariah’s critique of one of the contestants, Mariah decided to point out the fact that Nicki hasn’t had a number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 like she has:

Nicki: “You must agree with Nicki?”
Mariah: “So you must think that I agree with Nicki and Keith and Randy and the entire panel.”
Nicki: “Oh, A.K.A. you agree with Nicki … ? Okay honey boo boo. Okay.”
Mariah: “Again, back to the Billboard Hot 100 #1 song which you just performed … which is difficult to get … not everybody has that (waves hands towards Nicki) to their credit … to your credit you did a great job so keep on singing…”

With ratings tanking and multiple fans losing interest in the show, the rumors surrounding the future of American Idol are running rampant. Nicki Minaj was clearly selected to cause a little controversy and excite people about watching the show, but in the end that plan would backfire, and her beef with Mariah Carey hasn’t helped ratings any. Regardless, in Nicki’s opinion, she’s the most interesting judge on the panel, and it’s even rumored that she feels she’s the one that makes people want to tune in every week. Regardless, it’s been rumored that Nicki won’t be invited back next season, even though Idol producers claim that’s not true and they have nothing but love for the female rap star. Interestingly enough, a new report suggests that not only is Nicki’s fate on the show in jeopardy, but surprisingly, so is Mariah Carey’s. The Hollywood Reporter reports:

With ratings in a steep slide, American Idol producers and Fox executives in recent weeks hatched a dramatic plan to jumpstart the show: replace judge Mariah Carey with Jennifer Lopez, according to knowledgeable sources.

These sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Carey, who was touted as the big new addition to the judge’s panel this year, responded with a threat of litigation. With that, the plan was dropped, though Idol’s producers still are negotiating with Lopez, who served as a popular judge during the past two seasons, to appear on the show’s finale in May. And insiders say a search already has begun to replace Carey, most likely Nicki Minaj and possibly the entire judge’s panel for next season.

The American Idol producers have already denied this report, but with the ratings tanking more and more each week (not to mention Usher’s appearance on The Voice has made it the new favorite), it would just make sense that the next move for American Idol would have to be new faces on the panel. Only time will tell though.

American Idol producers thought the show would get a boost with the new judges added to the singing competition’s panel, but instead all of the drama between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey hasn’t helped ratings at all, and some even suggested it only hurt it terribly. Nicki however reportedly feels she’s the most interesting judge on the panel, and although her future on the show is still up in the air, she said she feels she’s doing a spectacular job because she’s always completely honest with the contestants. While some reports suggest the producers of the show feel the show’s demise is mostly because of the fan’s strong dislike of the female rapper, one producer says he believes the ratings are so low not because of Nicki Minaj solely, but because of the panel’s very apparent lack of chemistry. He also feels Nicki and Mariah’s beef made the season start off with a bad start. Nigel Lythgoe tells Zap2It:

“That got off to a bad start and that didn’t help anything. I don’t think we have good chemistry with the judges. And that saddens me. They are good individually, but I miss the camaraderie we have had in the past. Individually, every single one of them has something to offer, [but] for me it is a bit like a jigsaw puzzle that doesn’t quite fit. And it has been really difficult because it has been a good season of talent. That is always very sad, and everybody of course has an opinion as to how we can stop falling ratings. They all become producers.”

American Idol producers thought they found a gem in picking newbie judges Nicki  Minaj, Mariah Carey and Keith Urban for the current season, but ratings show the fans of the show aren’t too happy with the changes. Most specifically, it’s been said that a lot of fans of the show just can’t connect with Nicki, and all across the social networks they have been complaining that they fees she’s a horrible judge. Nicki on the other hand feels she’s doing a spectacular job, however, backstage antics have been rumored to be causing some tension between her and the producers. According to reports, the rap star has been late to the show too many times, and her future on the show is questionable, even though one producer told TMZ that he plans to invite her back for another season.

A new report claims that not only does Nicki believe she is doing an amazing job on the show but she feels the ratings have suffered because of the other two newbie judges. An insider even claims she feels Mariah Carey is a bore and Keith Urban doesn’t know how to be critical enough to the contestants. The source tells the National Enquirer:

“Nicki believes she’s the one carrying the show. She’s had enough of the fans’ online hatred because she feels she’s the only one who is at least trying to make the show more interesting.Off-camera Nicki doesn’t pull any punches. She believes Mariah sends viewers to sleep with her dialed-back performances, and she says, Keith sits on the fence far too often and gives half-hearted compliments to practically every contestant. As for Randy – Nicki says he’s the same old Randy.

“Besides the zany outfits and her big personality, she’s constantly thinking about ways to make the show more edgy.”

Now considering the source, we do have to tell you to take all of this with a grain of salt, however, Nicki has already said in numerous interviews that she feels Mariah’s presence on the show has been nothing but a bore, so there could be some truth to this report.
