Ilyasah Shabazz Contributes To Her Father’s Autobiography

We all are, or should be, familiar with “The Autobiography of Malcolm X”. He was one of the most influential African American leaders of the 1960’s. Malcolm X’s incredible journey was filled with life changing events that changed the way he viewed different things. Although his autobiography is rich with valuable information, there are some parts that are still missing from it.

And who better to add to his story than his own daughter.

Ilyasah Shabazz will be participating in the revision of “The Autobiography of Malcolm X”. She will be writing the introductions for the three missing chapters of her father’s historical piece of literature. The newly revised book is to be published on May 19th of this year. Malcolm X would have been celebrating his 85th birthday on that day.

Ilyasah Shabazz wrote “Growing Up X”, a book based on her childhood experiences as Malcolm X’s daughter. Her book was released in 2002.
