Suns Don’t Quite Shine In Game 1 Against LA Lakers

By: Taren Vaughan

The Phoenix Suns put in work against Mr. Bryant and his purple and gold entourage. But they fell short of a first game victory. Kobe Bryant’s knee was questionable before the start of the series. But it didn’t seem to hinder him too much as he ended the night with 40 points (21 third quarter points). Amar’e Stoudemire led the Suns with 23 points. All the credit can not go to Kobe in this one as the Laker bench really stepped up. Lakers’ Lamar Odom had a double double with 19 points and 19 rebounds, a playoff career high for him.

Even with the 21 point loss that they suffered, the Phoenix Suns did have several players in double digits. Game 1 is a thing of the past now. The Suns must now focus on how to even up this series as they don’t want to play catch up.
