Always Left Behind: Why Do Good Girls Finish Last?

Why do good girls have such a hard time finding love?

By: Taren Vaughan

Ever felt like you were too perfect to find love? You are a focused individual, working to achieve your career goals or already have an established career. You take care of yourself, health and appearance wise. And most of all, you don’t hesitate to be there for and do nice things for others. Deep down inside, you know that you are a good woman. But for some strange reason, love seems to be hiding from you. Why is that? Why do good women have such bad luck when it comes to finding a suitable partner?

Unfortunately, good women, and good men too for that matter, have a tendency to attract selfish and unappreciative individuals. They spend all their time giving all of their love and affection to the self-centered. Even after all of their heart felt efforts, they still come up empty handed 99% of the time. Sad that it has to be that way but that’s usually the outcome of a partnership like that.

After this happens one time too many, this “perfect woman” begins to question her reason for continuing to be the good girl that she is. She begins to think to herself: “What’s the point? Why should I continue to hold on to my good girl image when it gets me absolutely nowhere?”

Ditching your good girl ways is not always the best solution to your problem. In fact, it can cause your quest for love to become that much harder. It is very easy to think this way especially when you see all these scandalous females becoming wives way before you do. What the hell is that all about? Here you are, priding yourself in being a nice, respectable woman and always being about your business. And you get left behind for some female who lacks any type of class whatsoever? As disappointing as that can be, it happens like that sometimes. But you have to look at the bigger picture and remember that your good doings will not be in vain forever.

Walking in the shoes of a good woman can be tough at times. It seems like you do everything that a good woman should do. But you continue to end up alone. Sooner or later though, that man will come along that recognizes how special you are without you having to constantly remind him. So uphold your good girl image. Trust me; there is some guy out there that has his eye on you. And he has been taking note of all of your wonderful assets that the men from your past were too blind to see. It will be only a matter of time before he makes his move. Contrary to popular belief, nice girls don’t always finish last.

  1. Thank you for writing this article! It’s encourages me to continue to hang on for the right guy. As a “good girl” I have seen many of women who aren’t as half as nice, intelligent, and giving as I am get a man who gives them the world. I’m 32 and I’m beginning to lose hope that I will ever find that special someone. It’s not that I think having a man would complete me, but I would like to have the chance of being in a relationship with someone who loves and cares for me, and not just try to hook up.

  2. I think there is a “good girl” or “good guy” in everyone. Everyone has their stories, scars, good/bad experiences. To qualify one person as good would be presumptuous. I totally agree with this article and I think this article can speak to everyone! 🙂 The most important relationship everyone has is with themselves; it’s just difficult to honor that sometimes!
