The Billboard Music Awards: Which Moments Were Most Memorable?

The Goodie Mob reunion, Alicia Keys and Stevie Wonder duo or Bobbi Kristina accepting her mother’s Millennium award…Which one was most memorable?

Last night was the airing of the 2012 Billboard Music Awards. And as always with any award show, there were heavily anticipated moments from performers, with a few unaccepted ones thrown into the mix. With an array of talent being brought to the stage, Goodie Mob, Alicia Keys and Stevie Wonder have been some the most talked about performances thus far.

Cee-Lo Green has been holding it down in the solo spotlight for a good minute now, putting on shows, feathered outfits and all. Although he has earned a name as a solo artist, he hasn’t forgotten his Hip-Hop roots. It’s been a while since we’ve seen him with his Goodie Mob family and I’m sure fans were glad to see the Atlanta rap group back together on stage for such a big night in music.

Musically gifted and able to play the hell out of a piano, the collabo between Alicia Keys and Stevie Wonder’s was at the top of a lot of people’s list to watch. Knowing the huge amount of talent that both of these artists possess, it was almost a guarantee that they would bring it.

Aside from the performance aspect of the show, many hearts were touched by the daughter of a fallen star in the industry. Tears were shed across the audience as Bobbi Kristina Brown accepted her mother Whitney Houston’s Millennium award alongside her aunt Pat Houston.

Shortly after the airing of the show, some of our readers chimed in to let us know which moments left a lasting impression on them:

“Hands down, the Goodie Mob performance was my most memorable moment out of the three. As an Atlanta native, I have been listening to their music and been a true fan since they came out. And I was so hyped to see them come out on stage, all together. It was like a reunion, for them and their fans. The one-legged soldier that they brought on stage with them was doing his thing too, he almost stole the show. The best part of their performance was when they did a tribute to MCA, taking it back with the all white Adidas suits”

“I almost had to the turn the channel when Bobbi Kristina got on stage to accept her mom’s award. It was just a very emotional moment for me because my mother just passed away about a month ago. I’m 35 and it was very hard for me to deal with so I can only imagine what she is going through as a teenager. That was definitely a memorable moment for me”

“The Bobbi Kristina moment was definitely moving but the one thing that stuck out to me about that moment was how short the tribute was. Jordin Sparks did a great job signing a Whitney classic, and we all know how hard that is to do. And John Legend was his normal amazing self as well. Maybe it’s just me, but I was expecting so much more to be done for such an iconic woman like Whitney”

“Stevie and Alicia together…Can we say talent overflow? The fact that Stevie Wonder still sounds just as good as he did years ago is amazing to me. Some of these artists out now voices change from track to track, sounding like a hot mess in the process. I loved the fact that the duo was with Alicia because she has the same level of pure talent that he does. I’m a piano player myself and hearing the two of them together just really made my night”
