When it gets hot outside, strange things can and usually happen.

WJBK-TV in Detroit, Michigan is reporting two teenage boys were shot and wounded while their were hanging out with friends during an argument over which person made the best Kool-Aid.

Yes, Kool-Aid.

Once victim was struck in his buttocks while the other was struck in his wrist.

According to WJBK-TV,

Witnesses say two men in the Brightmoor neighborhood were so passionate about the way they make Kool-Aid, they started arguing with each other over who does it better.

Sadly, that fight took a horrifying turn when they both pulled out guns and started firing at each other.  Again, this was over Kool-Aid.

They didn’t hit each other, but two innocent bystanders suffered gunshot wounds in the soft drink shooting. Police call it utterly ridiculous, but they’ve seen worse.

The Imperfect Parent is now reporting that the two shooters that were arguing are still evading arrest. One of the suspects left the scene driving a purple Chevy Impala.

Yes, a purple Chevy Impala.

The gunshot victims are in stable condition.

Now there have been fistfights and gunfights over petty items and situations in the past. However, this really makes things seem to take the cake. This also reinforces negative stereotypes about African-Americans and this colorful, flavored beverage.

Thank goodness those two gunmen did not hurt their friends more than they did.

Sadly, this may not be the last time one may hear of a person or a group of people doing something as idiotic as shooting their friends due to an argument over Kool-Aid.

  1. That’s some crazy stuff. It’s amazing that some black people are willing to die over the one drink we’ve been trying to distance ourselves from for years. Stereotypes are powerful.

  2. I bet this happened because one of them said you only are supposed to put one cup of sugar in the kool-aid mix. And then one of them is driving a purple Chevy impala. I swear you can’t make this mess up!

  3. I hate that we as black people keep giving them ammunition. What is wrong with these young people today.? Why are they so quick to grab for the guns? We are really living in a very hostile world. Just scary.

  4. This next generation of black youth is in some real serious trouble. They behave like they have nothing to live for and they don’t seem to value the lives of others. I don’t know if it’s the music or what they are watching on television, but this really does sadden me as a black man. All I can do is try to raise my kids to be smarter and more decent human beings.

    1. I agree. That is all we can do. We must teach our kids to value life more so than they collectively do now.

  5. Are you serious? How idiotic must you be to get in a gun fight over kool-aid. As a black man I can’t remember a time that I was this ashamed of my own race.
