Nas: Gwyneth Paltrow Is A Real N-gga

Nas does not have a problem with Gwyneth Paltrow saying the N Word because she’s a real n-gga.

Amidst the Gwyneth Paltrow N Word controversy, rapper and Hip Hop legend Nas now finds himself in the middle as he has officially joined the list of those who support Paltrow’s recent Twitter debacle.  The controversy all began when the Academy Award winning actress took to Twitter during her trip to Paris and tweeted “N*ggas in Paris for real,” after joining rappers Kanye and Jay-Z on stage during a concert for their Watch The Throne tour.

Immediately, the Twitter world erupted, with many tweeting the actress and labeling her as nothing short of a racist. While she attempted to resolve the situation by reminding Tweeters that it’s nothing but the title of a song, many were not satisfied that a Caucasian actress had used such a hurtful label for African Americans so casually on the social network.

Gwyneth may have moved on silently from the conversation, but Hip Hop has become completely divided on the issue.

In a recent interview with CBS Local, the rapper explains why he feels Paltrow should get a pass. Turns out, it’s because she’s a “real n-gga”:

“I would slap the s*** out of somebody for Gwyneth Paltrow. She’s the homie she’s cool. Gwyneth gets a pass. Real people get a pass we know what this s*** is. We don’t interrupt Italians when they say ‘Wop’ to each other. They gonna punch you in the mouth if you interrupt that. Don’t interrupt us. We pick and choose.

Some might not feel the same way,” he said. “Some of us will get angrier about it than others but some people get a pass. The people that I know who are cool and real n****s, Gwyneth Paltrow is a real n****, that’s my homie. That’s how I’m on it. Some people get a pass.”

Nas is only the latest black entertainer to defend the actress, as Russell Simmons recently wrote an entire ignorant blog post in the actress’ defense, and super producer The Dream recently got caught in a lie to make right of Gwyneth’s Twitter “mishap.”

Meanwhile, the older African Americans who tried to tell us why using the N Word so casually and assigning the rights to use the word to some whites and not others could become problematic, are somewhere saying a very loud and resounding “I told you so!”

It is crazy how one little stupid situation can show you somebody’s true character in seconds. No one should use the word but even now, the people who caused the problem won’t see the danger behind the term they shouldn’t have embraced to begin with.

Man Nas has really become a sellout. That picture says it all for me. I love Nas as a rapper, but I can’t get on board this Gwyneth Paltrow bandwagon they all seem to be hopping on. Chick needs to stay in her lane and keep that damn word out of her mouth. She doesn’t have a “pass” around here with us regular folk. And out here, she’d get her feelings hurt.

It’s obvious Kelis’ milkshake doesn’t just bring all the boys to the yard, but it also makes them stupid too.
