Basketball Wives has taken an ugly turn this season, making even the most addicted reality TV show heads flip the channel. The show has caused quite a stir and the strong opinions of viewers and critics have been in heavy rotation. It has even gotten to the point where other reality TV show stars have decided to give their take on the weekly ratchetness that goes down on Basketball Wives.
Real Housewives of Atlanta’s NeNe Leakes is known for her outspoken, boisterous demeanor. And she is not afraid to speak her mind, whether she is absolutely wrong or not. We all know NeNe is no stranger to drama as she has had her share of shouting matches with show mates. But the weave snatching and slap boxing that happens on Basketball Wives is a little too much, even for her.
In an interview that she did with Vibe, Leakes said that the show has gotten way out of control:
“The truth is the truth. It has just gone too far. Too many fights, my God!,”
True, RHOA definitely has its share of catty moments but it never escalates to straight blows.
NeNe says her and the other RHOA cast members don’t go there with each other because it’s just not a good look:
“We don’t do that. We definitely have had our verbal fights, but never physical fights. I can’t believe the fighting and the bullying. It looks bad. It really looks bad,”
She goes on to say that these brawl sessions may cost Shaunie and company their futures:
“They can’t want to do too much in their careers. A good ole argument, everybody likes that every now and then to tune into, but you couldn’t be trying to have too much in your career because that stuff, it don’t work. You can’t represent a product and be that way. That just doesn’t work,”
NeNe may have never jumped over a table to get at her best friend or punched someone in the face in a club over drinks. But some might argue that she is the last one to be saying anything about the drama surrounding BBW.
Do you think NeNe is being a hypocrite? Or is she just stating the obvious?
