Rihanna and Chris Brown share an unfortunate experience that will always keep the two linked together in the eyes of public opinion. After that night that forever left the former couple attached to controversy, both have had to continue on with their careers despite never being able to escape the situation, even though it happened a few years ago when they were teenagers. Although both Rihanna and Chris Brown have seemingly moved on to date other people and get in other relationships, most people just refuse to believe that neither Chris or Rihanna have gotten over one another. Rihanna doesn’t help this belief when she takes one of many shots at Chris Brown’s current girlfriend Karrueche on Twitter, or when Chris Brown continues to get into with rappers that Rihanna is rumored to have dated, like his recent beefs with rappers Drake and Meek Mill.
So it’s should come as no surprise that when Rihanna had her recent sit down and interview with Oprah Winfrey, that Chris Brown would be one of the many subjects the singer would be asked about. The Chris Brown questions were to be expected, but even Oprah says Rihanna reactions to the questions somewhat shocked her. Years later, it’s apparent that Rihanna is still hurt by the events that transpired that night.
So when Oprah asked her to relive the situation that happened with Chris, she broke down in tears.
“It was embarrassing, it was humiliating… I lost my best friend.”
She also admits that the situation caused her depression:
“I was resentful, I had a grudge, I was dark.
Interestingly enough, she also admitted that her own fame actually scares her at times:
“I am super duper terrified of the pedestal that comes with fame. It’s amazing how lonely you can feel.”
