Rihanna may have impressed some with her interview with Oprah for her honesty and no holding back approach to answering questions, but it seems like that same approach is pissing some people off who follow her on Instagram. Although the singer is known and loved by most of her fans for her raunchy behavior, it’s no secret that it’s turning off a lot of people. It’s even caused her to look bad to some of the same cosmetic companies that hired her to promote their brand. Regardless, it didn’t stop Oprah from wanting to interview her, and none of that seems to matter to her core fan base. Despite that, it appears as if Rihanna may have lost a few fans for her behavior on Instagram last night. After Rihanna uploaded a photo and made an interesting comment, the singer’s comment section was flooded with a lot of negative responses. And many felt like Rihanna has just taken things too far.

Here’s the photo and comment that sparked the big controversy between Rihanna’s die-hard fans and critics:

Initially, many of her fans were confused on who Rihanna was calling her “d-ck riders,” but the whole ordeal sparked the whole role model debate, which Rihanna ironically talked about during her interview with Oprah. Rihanna seems to have been joking around, but unfortunately, her comments led her to lose a few fans:

Regardless of the criticism, there were still many who claim that despite her comments, she’s still their idol:

  1. In the real world, people aren’t feeling Rihanna’s new image. I love her music, but I’m starting not to like her the person. However, the Rihanna in the Oprah interview is very likeable. And probably the real her. I wish she would just be herself. The raunchy fans she’s attracted aren’t even worth this.

  2. The most disturbing thing were the last comments. These kids really do consider her a role model. And that is what scares the hell out of me. You can’t say you aren’t a role model, when you ARE!!!!

  3. I honestly do not see what the big deal is. Besides, she is NOT a role model. It’s not up to Ri Ri and other celebrities to be mindful of their actions anyone but their own families and friends. I’m still rockin with Ri Ri.

  4. Ugghhhh duh , she talking to Karrechue(however you spell it) Im not really a Rih fan but I enjoyed her interview the other night

  5. I see a whole bunch of wasted energy. Anyone who idolizes Rihanna is the result of failed parenting. This woman is a human and incredibly flawed. If people look up to her, that’s their problem and the parents problem. And lastly, she can say what she wants on her Instagram account. People are too sensitive.

  6. She just sad on her interview she is NOT a role model….IMO parents should stop looking to the tv and artists as role models. Its the parents full responsilbilty to raise your kids rather a single parent household or not! Do not leave it up to the artists to raise your kids, they are human just like you and I probably with just a lil more $$$$.

  7. She sounds stupid…I’m not seeing what’s so cute about this. I wish Rihanna would stop the front. She’s nothing like how she acts in the public eye. Her interview proved that.

  8. Rihanna tries way too hard to be a bada–. Her gimmick has gotten old, and I wish she would act her age. People can say what they want on their accounts, but don’t be surprised when people label you for that same behavior. If you keep acting ignorant on the social networks, I’m inclined to think you are ignorant in real life.

  9. LOL yall can’t detect sarcasm? Man, Rihanna is a sweetie. I think she’s just sarcastic as hell when she tweets. Don’t take her so seriously. I know I don’t. Carry on. 🙂

  10. As much as I love Rihanna’s wit and sarcasm, I believe that much of it is a facade, especially things like this here instagram post of hers. Ever since she caught hell for briefly getting back with Chris once the domestic incident happened, she’s been on this quest to prove her strength and “idgaf” image. She even admitted in her interview that she doesn’t want to appear weak and is afraid of the pedestal. With fear and discomfort comes rebellion. I just hope she gets to a point where she’s 100% comfortable in her own skin, whether she’s in or outside of Barbados; that interview was the most pure I’ve seen her in a while.

  11. I feel like people find any reason to criticize rihanna is only human and a very young one at that no one is perfect and like she said many of times she is no one role model which is not a bad thing due to all of the responsibility that comes along with it she is a talented person who has feelings jus like the next but because of her fame she get bashed for every mistake she may have made get over yourself people and stop looking so deep into a comment I highly doubt she would call her navy’s d-ck riders we need to focus on what’s more important and that’s the gift god gave her because if she wasn’t who she was and have the talent that she do no one would give 2 f-cks the the things she say and do are things that are be done daily and at the end of the day who are you to judge you either support her or you don’t

  12. – all of you people , act like it f-cking matters that she called yall some d-ck riders. Maybe yall are ; geeesh ‘ yall mad at her foor that .. ? ; it was a purpose too why she said this , dont be mad at her & cussing her out for her speaking her mind. If yall d-ck riders than yall d-ck riders enoughsaid.

  13. Rihanna is a bad b-tch she have the money to do and say what the hell she wants why hate on her give her, her damn respect and stop trying to find fault in everything she do, she beautiful, talented, and got a idgaf attitude if you don’t like it why you lurking a page that has her name as a title. and you probably envy the hell outta her behind closed DOORS, so your probably upset because you can’t be like her. Damn, you jealous a-s MF’s, if you can’t Beat her then JOIN her, PERIOD ! I’m out this thang. #TeamRiRi
