Tameka Admits to Spitting on Usher’s Girlfriend & Says Usher’s Mom Should’ve Been Supportive

By: Taren Vaughan

Tameka Raymond’s interview was one that was much anticipated as Tameka has finally gotten her chance to speak out about her side of the story when it comes to her previous marriage to Singer Usher. The two have been involved in a nasty, ongoing custody battle over their two sons and it has thus far resulted in Usher gaining full custody of their children, with Tameka fighting against the judge’s ruling. As Tameka has expressed her feelings about the custody battle on Twitter at times, she now has gotten the chance to put everything out on the table officially.

Not long after Usher made an appearance on Oprah’s Next Chapter, Tameka Raymond did some interviews of her own with Entertainment Tonight, where she is dishing about her past relationship with Usher and the views that people had of her during and after their marriage ended. She spoke on the gold digger label that people slapped on her, how her son’s death took a toll on her and about Usher’s act of infidelity involving one of her bridesmaids. During another segment of her multi-part interview, Tameka was asked about Usher’s mother Jonetta Patton, someone who Tameka has been said to not see eye to eye with.

And in her interview, Tameka claimed that Usher’s mother wasn’t supportive of him when they got married and that Jonetta was involved but not when it came to the important things:

“I’d say not involved enough. She was involved in some aspects maybe more than I would agree to, but not enough.”

“When I say not enough you know, counseling and trying to keep a family together and encouraging your child to do the right thing. Things like that. That was where she was kind of hands off.”

And Tameka says she herself will be present when her sons decide to get married for sure:

“When my sons marry I will definitely support their happiness,”

Tameka was also asked about Usher’s accusation of her spitting at his girlfriend Grace Miguel, along with throwing food at Usher’s car when he brought Grace to her home, Tameka admitted that was an act she was guilty of and it was something that she doesn’t take pride in:

“It was not one of my more proud moments. I’m prone to human frailty. It was a one-time incident. I was angry.”

  1. I feel for Tameka because of all that she’s going through, but spitting in a woman’s face is totally unacceptable. i get that Grace was shady and is a home wrecker, but you never let a woman bring out that side of you. Grace will get her karma and so will Usher, so she has to find peace in that.

  2. Lmao, as sick as it is, I am kind of happy she did spit in Grace’s face. Yeah, I know it was wrong. But I’m tired of women like Grace feeling like they don’t have to respect other people’s marriages.

  3. I’m glad she kept it real, but she really needs to just not allow Usher to get to her so much that she’s doing these kinds of things. I really want her to get her life and be happy. That is the best way to get revenge on Usher and Grace. They wouldn’t know how to respond if Tameka actually found some happiness and stopped caring about that failed marriage. Hell, it would shock the whole world. LOL

  4. I like Tameka, but that was childish of her. Spitting is not cool. Ever. But I agree with what she said about Usher’s mom. No matter how she felt about Tameka, she should have went to her SON’S wedding. That’s the problem now. She didn’t raise her sons to be MEN. She raised them to momma’s boys who need their momma’s approval on everything they do. When they make their own choices, she punishes them. It’s pathetic. Even if she didn’t like Tameka, let your son make his own choices and learn from his mistakes like he is supposed to do. Usher’s mom is more disturbing than Tameka could ever be for this sole reason. She’s the real problem.

  5. All I can do is SMH. Tameka has to learn how to handle her anger. And Usher’s mom is only one of Usher’s problems. He has many more that he has yet to take any responsibility for. He cheats and seems to only like to date women close to his mother’s age. There is definitely something behind that.

  6. Tameka, you did not look good during this interview. I hope everything you did was worth it! Get used to only seeing your kids a few times a year – goldigger!

  7. These interviews were dry. No new tea was spilled. I think this story can be laid to rest now. But that story by Usher’s new boo is interesting. I think she plays her role very well. I wouldn’t be surprised if Usher and his new boo are involved in something quite shady and revealing.

  8. Usher will get his when it’s all said and done. There was no reason to have primary custody other than to attempt to erase some one out of your life – something you can never do!

Usher is a real cold-hearted, woman hating person that will not have victory in the end. Bet on it!

  9. Sad when the homwrecker is the one people are defending. Remember when you got treated like a bad person for engaging with another person in the destruction of some one elses home family and happiness. What happened to those good ol days.

I probably would do allot worse if my husband came by the house with some “Girlfriend” So I can’t really say anything.

I hope this does not ruine her heart. I hope she is getting help and not sinking into the negativity that’s around her.

This woman has been through ALLOT.
