Rick Ross Shades 50 Cent on Twitter After 50 Threatens French Montana

50 cent

50 Cent and Rick Ross have a history that goes back to a beef that eventually led to 50 Cent exposing Rick Ross’ past as a correctional officer. Since 50 has a history of “destroying” the career of rappers he just doesn’t seem to like very much, many thought that Rick Ross would have the same fate. But Rick Ross’ career not only survived 50 Cent’s personal attacks, but he’s obviously thrived in the music industry since he was exposed as a former correctional officer. And while he is still enjoying the success he’s had as a solo artist, he also has his own label and artists to manage these days. His roster includes popular rappers of the moment Meek Mill, Wale, and now the up and coming rapper French Montana. While 50 seems to have somewhat cooled down with his beef with Ross, things seem to have started up again since the two ran into each other at the BET Hip Hop Awards. At the event, it was said that 50 Cent had some of his own security jump one of Ross’ associates, Gunplay. The beat down led to Gunplay getting his chain snatched and allegedly 50 Cent is said to be wearing the chain out in public as of late.

Regardless, it looks like 50 Cent can add another one of Ross’ artists to his list of those to attempt to destroy, since French Montana decided he was going to talk about 50 in one of his recent interviews.

While talking to Complex.com, French Montana suggests that 50 Cent’s addiction to rap beefs is what killed his career. He also suggested that 50 Cent’s beef with Rick Ross backfired and is what made Rick Ross more successful than 50 as an artist:

“Yeah. You can’t beef with people because it’ll scare money away. In the streets you can strong arm people and take money but you can’t do that in the industry.

I feel like beef hurt him. I feel like it helped Ross unite people. That’s why Maybach Music is one of the biggest labels. It just makes sense…Of course, Ross is on his fifth album. And like I said, he’s only getting bigger. This is going to be Ross’ first platinum album. He never went platinum. So when 50 came up, 50 sold 10 million. Then after his first album he just kept on going down. You think 50 could come out and sell 10 million now?”

Of course, 50 Cent didn’t like those comments too much. So naturally, 50 came swinging at French Montana on Twitter:

50 cent tweet french montana

Of course it wouldn’t be a 50 beef unless it ended in a threat:

50 cent and french montana beef

I guess French Montana doesn’t care too much that 50 actually has a pretty good record of getting even with those that cross him. He tweeted back:

french montana and 50 cent beef

And although Rick Ross didn’t come for 50 directly for going after one of his artists, he did throw a little shade:

  1. 50 Cent doesn’t really need to rap though. He’s rich from his business ventures. I bet French Montana is so close minded that he thinks rapping is the only way to make money. But rappers make chump change after they pay at all those fees to the record labels.

  2. Wait a sec, who is French Montana? I don’t know who he is but he’s going to regret getting cute with 50. LOL.

  3. I don’t know who French Montana is but he did make a good point. 50 turned off a lot of people with all his beefs. People don’t care about that stuff anymore. But 50 has more money than Rick Ross ever will because he’s a real business man. Ross doesn’t even outright own that label he has.

  4. I’m going to need 50 to grow up. There’s no need to “ruin” people because they aren’t afraid of you. French Montana wasn’t even disrespectful in the interview. He just said what most are thinking. 50 has a problem with anyone who doesn’t show fear.

  5. There’s a difference between rich and relevant. Just because 50 has established himself as a businessman does not mean he’s relevant in the music industry. I’ve never been a fan of his, but I totally agree that his chronic rap beefs have turned off a lot of people; myself included. He has always come off as a bully to me and it has definitely gotten very old at this point. Dude needs to live and let live.
